Thread OP

LindaTX8,

I am teaching a Native Landscape Certification Class sponsored by the Native Plant Society, Boerne Chapter. We are including Daucosma laciniata as a species of recommended plants for the course. We would like to use the photo you have submitted in our PowerPoint.

If this is ok with you, please let me know and give me your name so I can credit your photo. Can you send me a larger than thumbnail photo to use? The title of the photo is Daucosma in bloom.

Thanks,
Brenda Fest

Couldn't it be cited or referenced as publicly available information on the internet? Include source, author, link, last date of access...? Similar to MLA citations in college papers.. Arguably you're using publicly available information from the internet for educational purposes - you're not passing it off as your own photograph. Anybody could just access it on their phone to look at it, so why not just pop it on the powerpoint with a quick reference?

Perhaps the resolution isn't good enough for the presentation which is why Brenda is asking for a bigger photo. I always reduce the size of photos for this site. I agree with Sue, it would be easier to send the photographer Linda a tree mail.

I believe the photographer is notified when a comment is posted for their photo? Linda was referred to this thread in a post elsewhere, forget where, so perhaps they are now Tree-Mailing.

Yes, it's okay! I emailed her.
