Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Sings the Blues')

'Sings The Blues' has been in my garden since July 2015, it was has never been a strong plant here. It has struggled since it was first planted but finally managed to bloom in June 2017, but just a couple of blooms. I moved the plant just recently to a new location in hopes it would perform better(September 5th, 2017). I will try to report again next year and see if the move helped.

Here it is in the new location, it was moved at the same time as the other daylilies in the photo, and it is the one to the far right (the smallest clump).

I had this plant for several years and it just sat there and never did anything. Struggled to return in the spring in zone 6 and did not increase. It had about 3 blooms last summer on scapes there were barely off the ground-9inches or so. Maybe it would do ok for someone else-different soil/water ect. But it didn't like me

Not that great for me either, not a fast increaser, although it blooms every year. Very short, maybe 18" tall or so. I have had it for maybe 10 years & it is a modest clump now. The blooms are pretty, but I'm thinking of getting rid of it.

I think "Sings the Blues" daylily would be a great flower to go with other daylily combinations in flower beds. There are a lot of daylilies that have very similar patterns and colors to the "Sings the Blues" daylily. I might have something similar to that flower and I think my stepmother, Shakespeare'sGarden (Diana) does too.

Thanks for sharing Jon. I need to come more often to the "Daylily of the Day." I might be missing out on some good ones.

Looking at others comments, I believe I was wrong about the combinations. Since they don't do that well, even blooming.
