Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Which Way Jim')

I purchased a double fan of Which Way Jim in the spring of 2014. It has multiplied some, but not a great amount, maybe 5-6 fans now.

I noticed that the database pictures vary a lot, and even my own pictures of WWJ vary from very black to light magenta-purple, which tells me that it does fade quite a bit throughout the day. It gets full sun here in southern Indiana.

I haven't seen anything spectacular about this daylily that stands out. 2-way branching and low bud count. I do like the black color at the beginning of the day before it fades, but I think this one will not be in my garden much longer unless I move it to the shade to see if that helps retain its color.

I bought Which Way Jim last spring and was glad to see it bloom in its first summer. I like the deep, near black color of WWJ when it opens and (I might be weird) I like the sun faded color also. It's still a pretty deep shade of red/purple and the change reminds me to look again later in the day. I didn't record bud count, nor did I try to set seed or use its pollen.

Which Way Jim doesn't multiply fast for me but I like the different blooms that show up on this plant. I'm not talking about it fading, which it does some, but the flowers can look different one morning to the next.
