Summer Wine is a daylily I picked up 5 years ago at Walmart. It has reached the 24" height here with a bud count of 9 with 2 way branching. The plant has increased at a reasonable rate and is ready for division this year. There is nothing spectacular about this plant, just a good garden plant for front of the bed offering some nice colour mid season. It seems to fit in well with a variety of other colours.

I got this from Gilbert Wild back in 1994. It has become a favorite, and I keep two clumps in the gardens. Its color surprised me the first time I saw it, and even now it makes a "star showing" for those who visit here. The color is vibrant, yet soft, and appealing in mixed perennials & other settings. Depending on lighting (sun, shade & overcast) the color can vary slightly when photographing. But it is a very pleasing bloom for those of us who like stunning colors! Slight variation in color can be seen in the two photos below. The one at right is in some shade. There's nothing like a live view!
