Has a wonderful watermark eye and can produce some breathtaking blooms. Can be slow to open in some weather. Seems larger than 5" here, but I haven't measured it. Originally registered as "Sparticus"; glad that a correction has been made.

Gee, that's a pretty one I don't remember hearing about before. And as with many of the Hansons it is registered as mid to late bloomer, something I'm trying to add more of to my garden. Nice pictures Mantis. When you say slow to open, do you mean in cooler weather?............Maryl

Yes, slow opening in cooler weather. Suspect it wouldn't hold well in your sun.

SA is a beautiful flower. I agree with mantisOH; the bloom is larger than 5". Registered height is right on. Over a number of years it has turned into a nice clump but have not needed to split it up yet. (Which is something I like.) Smiling I also like the triangular shape of the bloom.

I planted Spartacus Adorned in May of 2022. It bloomed July 6-24 with 6 flowers. It ended the season with two, very rusty fans.

2023 update…SA bloomed July 5-17 with at least 10 blooms and doubled it's fans to end at four by October.
