Last week went to the Conservatory at Volunteer Park in Seattle. For those of us that have a bit of Spring fever. It was a rainy cold day but summer in here.

This vine was in a hanging pot. I thought that was a great idea.

Isn't that the truth?! Visitors and tourists seem to hit all the places that we who live in the areas never do....lol..

What a luscious treat to go from the outside cold and rain into such a wonderful environment. Any outside chance they have a place to sit and have coffee or tea? I suppose not, just couldn't help thinking how great it would be to spend the afternoon in there.

No place to sit, just a pathway. Well one bench. A lady was sitting on it painting a watercolor of the flowers. The gift shop was closed that day. It looked like they have a few plants for sale. It's all run by volunteersand what a great job they are doing. Everything was perfect! There is one in Tacoma as well, but that is about 90 min. away. A bit more of a trip. This one was only about 30 min.

lol...no benches but one. I suppose benches would encourage a lot of loitering.

Yep, but I never felt rushed. The flowers and foliage was so beautiful. I could have gone around many times if i wished.

It's a pretty building too isn't it?
Have you done Swanson's just to sit inside the covered building (okay, I pig out on lunch too) and then visit the koi. A bit of sanity during the worst of the year.
I don't know anything about the Tacoma one. Is it an old building too?

Yes, I think the Tacoma one is old too. I don't go to Swanson's, to far but it is a nice nursery.

I always loved to visit the conservatory, and the park there as well, when we lived in Seattle. We still stop by when we visit, though they've made the park less accessible to those like me who have chronic problems walking.

Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, "In this world, Elwood, you must be" - she always called me Elwood - "In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me.
