Golden Globe just might be my favorite diploid daylily. I love the ruffles and the deep color on the edges of the petals. In drought years the color isn't as vibrant. So if you live in an area where daylily season coincides with high temps and little rainfall don't expect great blooms.

GG increases well in my garden. It is also very pod and pollen fertile without making a lot of bee pods. It blooms heavily and always makes a good show. Highly recommended!

Yes, the color could vary here, but generally was a bit drab. Very fast increaser. Like most Doughertys, it is a tough plant.

Does this reach it's 30 inch height for anyone? Was sent to me as a bonus, trying to decide to keep it or not. Bloomed just 2 months after I planted it, had a nice rich color and obvious texture to it.

I crossed Beautiful Edgings with Golden Globe. I only got one seedling to survive. The flower is a bit bigger than Golden Globe at 5.75 inches.

@bxncbx that is a beautiful bloom!

I grew this for a few years, it never got very tall for me, bloomed in the foliage mostly, It had a few good moments. The substance was substantial-the petals were not too thin. The color sometimes looked washed out to me, other times it was vibrant-inconsistent like that. I ended up parting w it as I never grew fond of the texture of the petals, always looked like it needed an iron taken to it.
