Well, I'm feeling bad for not posting pictures or adding an entry here for Verdant Valley Oranges and Lemons. I have surprisingly few pictures because I have this one in a temporary garden space while I find the perfect permanent home for it.
It definitely grows tall for me. The coloring is variable. It has a blushing on the edges, and often quite a bit more than the edge. For me, the more red that shows, the more I like it. But it's not a guarantee. You can see from the other pictures for in the database, and mine from below, you don't always get the blush. I haven't cracked the code, yet. Is it heat or cold that makes more blush? Not sure.
I'm sure it's every bit of the 42 inches it's registered at in my garden. I'm not sure of my bud count, because I don't track plants in my temporary garden, but I feel comfortable saying I'm closer to 10-15 buds per scape than the 25 buds it's registered at. That's not unusual for my location, though.
I really like the plant, and I'll be moving it this spring to a new Orange and Yellow daylily group I'm putting together. I think it will be a rock star with its yellow and orange friends.
I only have one picture to share from when it was brand new, so it's not indicative of what it looks like with more fans today.
