Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Tree of Gascone')

Last year was my first year on this one. I got a couple blooms and they were beautiful but small. Hoping this year is good. I have several of the Gaskin daylilies.

I purchased this plant from Jon in March of last year. It has been a decent plant, nothing spectacular about it. The only real drawback I will comment on is the plant in my garden is susceptible to rust. I have no bloom left on the plant now (but I do have seed pods on it.). It is pod and pollen fertile.
After just one year it is too early to really evaluate, but I did like the bloom.

Right now the plant is way shorter than registered, the bud count and branching are nothing like what was registered, but I do hope to improve those things over the next two years.

I bought this some years ago, on the hybridizer hype basis of it having wonderful branching, and being rust resistant.

It promptly got rust.

I never saw the branching and budcount because I threw it out before it ever bloomed.

It's too bad, really; I love yellow daylilies but I'm not coddling any more rust buckets here than I need to.

I love yellow Daylilies too! What makes this yellow daylily stand out from the rest?

Frank, that is a good question. Nothing that I have seen so far! But I like to give a plant at least three years before making a judgement call.
