I received my order on Wednesday, along with my Floyd Cove order and my second order from Bell's -- so I've been a-planting for a few days... They trim their plants shorter, but who cares -- they're already showing growth in the middle of the fans today.

BI-COLORED BITE
CLOWN PARADE
SHARK ATTACK

And the smalls/minis:
BANNED IN BOSTON
BLACK FATHOM DEPTHS
ENCHANTED PATCHWORK (Unregistered daylily by Elizabeth Salter)
GARDEN GREETINGS (Registered as SPRING GARDEN GREETINGS)
GREEN TREAT
ITTY BITTY BLUE
MAGIC MANDOLIN
ON THE LOOKOUT
STAR CHILD
SUNDAY SANDALS
YOU GOT IT

They included two of their recent introductions by Faye Shooter as bonus plants: SHARK ALERT and TROPICAL HEAVEN -- and I absolutely love them both!

All are multiple fans, mostly triples and going up from there to as many as five-fan clumps! And the two bonus plants are are double fans. A terrific order, and I'm thrilled!

Very nice, Betty. The Shooters are generous with extra fans, and we all like that! You ARE going to be a busy lady planting. I am already looking forward to your pictures this summer.

Well, I can only hope that I haven't managed to kill them by this summer. We were just notified by the water company that they're going to put meters in our neighborhood (a good idea, I'm sure, but we've always paid a flat rate and I've just watered away all the time...) Now I guess I'll try heavily mulching everything, because I suspect my DH would croak if we got a $500 water bill in July or something. We have very silty soil that does not hold water, so I think I'm definitely going to have to heavily mulch. It's always something...

Betty get yourself a rain barrel or one of those 250 gallon square water tanks, before they put the meters in. Fill them up before you have to pay for it. I got 2 of those 250 gallon tanks last year for $50.00 a piece from some of the local farmers. They use them with fertizer in them then usually sell them later. Maybe you could find one cheap too. Just be sure they had fertizer not pesticide in them. Then after you have used up your meter free water you can use them like real rain barrels. I think you can get them new from some of the online garden catalogs but they cost a bunch more. i just use a pond pump to pump the water out into my watering cans or buckets.

Here is one of mine. They aren't pretty so it's stashed behind the satellite dish and a jap maple that hid it in the summer.

Hope this helps.
It's my cats world, I'm just here to open the cans.

Betty, I have both SHARK ATTACK and CLOWN PARADE and both are lovely daylilies. I am sure you will really like them. SHARK ATTACK was really light colored the first year blooming but last year it was completly different. A very saturated color. It really is lovely either way but I really loved the dark version best.

If you check out SHARK ALERT it looks like a gorgeous bicolor, and Faye included a little side note by it that she knows I will love the color! And I love the look of the other gift daylily, TROPICAL HEAVEN, too. It's also a tet, and the description says it's very fragrant -- yum yum! I just love the scent of a fragrant daylily!

Betty, those are called intermediate bulk carriers (we use them at work sometimes). with the cage, they are sturdy and hold either 275 or 330 gallons of liquid, and might make your gardening cheaper. Great idea, Kim. Smiling
