I really like DLs in the apricot/peach color range, preferably with heavy dusting and a classic form. It seems others do also because there are so so many varieties in this spectrum! I'm looking to add more DLs of this type but I've gotten so confused trying to sort them out that I've no idea which variety to go with.

What are your best performers/ favorites in this color range?

I don't have many in this category. THe few I have that are favorites are Madge Cayse, Divine Comfort, Summa Cum Laude. Fairy Tale Pink and Elizabeth Salter are described as pink but they mostly bloom peach color for me.

Another one that I really like is Fringed Blessing. Though not vigorous and have few flowers, all the flowers that open are a gorgeous polychrome of peach, apricot, pink blend.

These aren't registered as peach, other than Sand Witch, and are all Diploids. Maybe a bit lighter than most would call peach? But that's how they read to me.

Commands Attention. Gorgeous, huge blooms with major substance. My Husband's garden favorite.

I am glad to see I am not the only one with a problem trying to decide exactly which blooms fall into the color of peach or apricot. I have quite a few daylilies that sometimes look peach apricot or melon to me, but they vary more to the pink side just as often, and sometimes even into the orange classification to me. I am not very good with assigning colors to names I guess. I googled a color chart for peach apricot and melon, and just became more confused.
Elizabeth Salter is a beautiful bloom, in my garden it is often more pink looking.
I have one NOID that performs very well and I refer to it as my Melon NOID.

I think 'Seventy Times Seven' is a very good one. Solid performer in my garden and I think the blooms are quite nice.

All are exceptional blooms.

Will, I just realized I forgot your criteria of "classic form". I suspect that you mean like the species. If so, then to select a peach/apricot that is more of classic form, and is a best performer for me or favorite of mine, I'd have to select 'Tower Power'.



For me it definitely has a melon/peach coloration that you may or may not consider to be in your desired spectrum-- sorry if not...

The description of 'Selma Longlegs' doesn't use apricot, but if you've ever pulled a ripe apricot directly off the tree and looked at it before eating it, that's how it usually looks here. It's got the same orange based dusted lightly with paprika. It matches the skin more than the flesh. In my mind, I think of it as apricot in color. I'm not knowledgeable enough about accepted daylily descriptions to cover the other descriptors.

I have been enjoying everyone's photo of apricots and peaches. Here are a few from my garden.

Bordello Queen, a strong grower that clumps up quickly.



Lake Norman Sunset is a beautiful blend of pink and apricot.



Doll House has been in my garden for around 25 years and is still going strong. The colour reminds me of orange sherbet.



Minted Halo is another very strong grower.

I didn't intend to imply a strict color code when I started this thread, just wanted to give a general range. Also wish I'd said good form instead of classic, I'd hate to have my loose use of terminology keep me from finding a good plant. I'm fairly new to the DL game and often forget that with the jargon words can have a much more specific meaning than when generally used. One word that is quite clear however is "beautiful" and I applies to all the submissions I've seen so far.

Here is one somewhat in the apricot to cinnamon range that I really love — THE FOOD CHANNEL. It is a beauty but might not be strictly the color you are requesting. The color is rather unique.

@jillz Very nice. Is color difference in the two photos due to sun fading? Both versions are lovely.

No sun fading — it is just hard for me to adequately capture the color in a photo. The first photo is more accurate but the second photo shows the stippling.
