Clematis 'Abilene'™, Common Name: Clematis (Type2-SL-PK), Size: 4ft., 4"" pink single, USDA Hardiness Zone 4-10, Michigan Bloom Month 5b

Can be grown in partial shade. Mine is in full sun on the south side of the house. Ruffled 4" flowers open pink then mature to lighter pink with a prominent central deep pink. Anthers are butter yellow. Raymond Evison, well-known Clematis hybridizer, developed Clematis Abilene™ for its smaller size for gardens with limited space or container growing. Works for larger gardens too. Pruning Type 2, blooms on old wood. I generally do no pruning.

Clematis 'Carnaby', Common Name: Bi-colored Clematis (Type2-SL-PK), Size: 6-8ft., 6"" pink flowers w/darker pink bar, USDA Hardiness Zone 4-9, Michigan Bloom Month 5c

Carnaby is a compact, large flowered clematis. It has Bi-colored pink (almost white) flowers with a dark pink bar and red stamens. Being a Type 2 clematis it bloom on old and new wood. Usually blooms in late spring and repeats in fall. I usually do not prume it. Sometimes the fall blooms are not as color consistent as the spring blooms.

Very pretty! Pink is in the range of my favorite color in the garden. I like the coral-pinks best.

I only have three clematis, 'Rhapsody', 'Barbara Jackman', and a non-climber, that I can't think of the name of right now. I have cut 'Rhapsody' and 'Barbara Jackman' back before, but am not sure I will this year.

Love your clematis! I had Carnaby years ago and lost it. It is one that I miss. I need to put that one in again.

Beautiful, I will order some bulbs next year to plant near my climbing roses.
