Merry Christmas to all in what is supposed to be snow country, and to you warm country odd balls also.

We got a hard enough dusting that I suppose technically it will be a white Christmas, praise the Lord.
Again, Merry Christmas and Godspeed to all and to all a good night. I tip my hat to you.

Suppose to snow this morning. -9c right now. I've noticed the Bow River is just about frozen over in the slow moving spots and the ice jam is growing at the Blackfoot bridge.

Today is one of the rare days, temps. are below or near average. Blinking
As I have said before, our daytime temp., on the whole, are not far from average but our night time lows are ten or more degrees above average.
Not good. Grumbling

Genuine, not sissy warm , winter seems to have finally arrived.
If the weather service is not a load of bollocks, in two days we should have at least eight straight days with night time temps sub-zero and two days with sub-zero high. Hurray!
When Sharon's car gets out of the body shop I will have to drive home and plug a hole in my cellar to make sure a pipe does not freeze.
I have a pile of frozen leaves outside blocking the hole along with a board but just want to make sure. Blinking
My water at home, the cold water is cold enough to make your teeth ache, and that is now when temps are above zero.
Thank God there is snow covering the ground but I wish it were three feet deep and not three inches.
The fact it is literally frozen because it mixed with rain is now a true benefit.
Forecast low is -23 and as the old saying goes -- rim shot -- we've had worse. Rolling on the floor laughing

17 degrees right now and the birds are flocking to the bird feeder. (As is a herd of lard-butt squirrels.)
Light fluffy snow yesteday, about two inches so it is really pretty outside even with cloud cover.

I guess I should go through my seed box, I think I still have a month before I should germinate my petunia seeds. My santa cruz begonia seedlings germinated a few weeks ago. Just keeping my pelargonium cuttings trimmed down so they fit under the lights on the plant racks.

I put this in the other winter thread but if I do it twice I will only be one-half as much peed off.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY bullsh--.
There are going to close the schools here because it is too cooooold, what a crock of sh--.

NO wonder todays youth are panty waist pussys.
All the jack-ss weather morons babble about is the bs wind-chill.
Frost bite in blah, blah, blah minutes. Unless you incredibly stupid wind chill only any effect on bare skin.
I have worked in sub-zero weather with wind chill and my face never froze off.
I have been in true -50 degree weather is does not even resemble their asinine wind-chill Chicken -Little crap, it is far worse and it is dangerous, hell true -40 feels a lot different than -30 when you breathe the air in.
Hell I have said before I put a starter on my car outside when it was -18 and I had to take my gloves off to start screws; I still have all ten fingers.
Sad, very sad no wonder this country is going to hell in a hand-basket.

The snow we got came just in time to control the frost from going down into the ground.
Had it not snowed before this there would have been hell to pay.
As it is the rain soaked snow at the bottom is probably a blessing now as that is better block than light fluffy snow
My South garden has a healthy foot or more of snow on it as does my rose garden, Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!
Even the roses by the garage were buried under snow before this hit. Thumbs up I tip my hat to you.

Yes, it will turn cold again this weekend. A high of -4f is expected. Which is nothing if your dress in layers like I do.
Today above freezing and a clear view of the rocky mountains.

Brought my three snow tires I had at home back up here but did not put them on the car as I have no urge do so when it is snowing blowing.
I am now very glad that when I picked my summer all-season tires I made sure I picked the ones with best snow rating.
Sharon had high buck true three season tires on hers, and while the tire guy said they have a couple of years life left, I think she should have bought new Goodyear Assurance as these are horrid in snow and the one new type of Assurance is now the best ranked all-season in snow, plus there is a 100 dollar rebate plus another 100 rebate if you sign up for there credit card which makes them genuinely low priced at todays tire prices. Thumbs up

Doc gave me some prescription only hand lotion for the eczema on my hands which at this point seems to be working well but then I do not know if it helped or if they are just growing out of the allergy caused reaction.
I borrowed another cluster of rubber gloves as I was down to three gloves, which means the original bunch lasted a lot longer than I though they would. Hurray!
I did learn that for what I use them for a size that may be top small is better than one that is slightly top large.
My sense of taste, as of today , is getting to be less and less, i.e. the good days are not as good as the good day that came before, so he gave me some nose spray to maybe help that. I tip my hat to you.
