Hey!I was just going to say that! I didn't think Verbena liked cold weather. Regardless, it's a very nice banner.

Very nice banner that could be just as refreshing and welcome on one of the hot and humid summer days.

Thank you @plantmanager, @Marilyn, @Fleur569, @Whitebeard, @tx_flower_child, @crawgarden, @pirl, @ge1836, @GaNinFl, @TBGDN, @wildflowers, @Lestv for your thoughtful comments!!

Thank you @Marilyn, @Fleur569, @tx_flower_child for the acorns!!

And thank you to everyone for the thumbs!!!

Sean and tx_flower_child - Last year was the first year I planted this type of verbena. So far it's survived our winter which really surprised me too, though my verbena bonariensis overwinters here.

Arlene, Leon and Christine - After reading your comments I have a craving for lemonade with mint!

Leslie and Karen - Creating banners has been a fun project! It has given me a chance to go though my garden photos, revisiting the transformations it has gone through over the years. I've had a lot of those "Why don't I grow those any more?" The likely answer is, "Oh yeah. Irises." Whistling

@greenappleagnes Casey,

Would you post a full size pic? It would make a great "Winter Interest" in the photo gallery section of the Verbena 'Homestead Purple'. You should submit it there. I looked it at and noticed you hadn't posted it. Here's the link for you.

My verbena not only doesn't look like that but it never has.
