As I mentioned before, we are about to embark on a vacation. This time we are headed for Eastern Europe; specifically, Prague and the Danube river. If you remember, our last trip was to Patagonia (Buenos Aires to Santiago) with a stop in Antarctica. This time we will fly to Prague, then head south via motor coach to Nuremberg where we will board the river boat. We sail the Danube through Bavaria to Vienna, then on to Budapest, Belgrade and Bucharest with several stops in between. Lots of time is allotted for biking and hiking too. The cruise line is Uniworld and our travel agent says they are the best. We will be gone for about 3 weeks.

I started this new thread so I can post some trip pictures. I hope to have internet access along the way but can't be sure. So, hang in there my friends and I will pop in when possible.

My daughter managed to get herself access to the local phone service through Verizon when she traveled to Paris last year and to Germany the year before. It was awesome to follow her as she usually posted every evening.

Sounds like a febulous itinerary, enjoy your travels. My niece, who travels to Europe often, uses WhatsApp to talk, text and send images.

Oh, there was a news article that just came out about WhatsApp. The story said hackers have installed surveillance software on the app. Just a heads up- this info was widely reported in the UK.

I don't know who would want surveillance footage of this old man sipping wine on a riverboat but I'll be as careful as possible. Thanks for the heads up, Melissa.

Whatsapp was hacked but that was some months ago. Supposed to be safe now, free communication is good.

Alice- yeah, but it guess during that time, hackers installed spyware on peoples phones. I don't know though, if updating the app will do anything. Just thought I'd mention it, I don't use the app, only saw the news story.

Greetings from the Danube River near Passau, Germany. Everything is going well. Prague and Regensberg are fun places to visit. We will be walking and biking near Passau today.
