That's very sweet, Ronnie. I actually like the soft pale color of these.. Found a packet Scarlet O'Hara for just a quarter, so I picked it up. I was concerned some pale seeds that just sprouted, might actually get cooked in the heat of mid day. Some are pale cotyledons & several are rather variegated...Seems a bit of heatwave & drought, down this way.

Here they are, all lined up, enjoying the late summer heat in May.

The Ipomoea sloteri seedlings are in place now. Growing them for the red flowers to tempt hummingbirds.

I think there are flower buds on my Ipomoea hieronymi plant. So soon!

I'm going to dust off the 11 year old seeds of Ukigumo and see if they have any life. The old Ipomoea setosa seed certainly jumped up!

I posted a photo of first flower, from seeds you sent to me Ronnie, but figured I will just add them here, as they bloom. This is from "mixed bag" of seed & the other named cultivars probably won't be much longer. Thank you, Ronnie !

How are yours coming along, Ronnie? Did the' Yoi no Tsuki' germinate ?
Joseph, what is the latest, on that older seeds of 'Ukigumo' ?
I've got something that's been eating not only young seedlings, but also entire leaves of some, recently. I just can't figure out, what would be eating them. Anyone have any possible, idea as to what it might be ?
I'm almost ready to use tobacco infused water, at the next watering, so the nicotine makes them rather more than just distasteful, out of sheer desperation.

I got 2 more seeds of Sazanami # 2 germinated. Let's see if they emerge from the soil.

I haven't started Ukigumo yet. I can't start too many seeds or my wife will give "the look".

Joseph, oh the look, huh? Better watch out, especially if the eyes do a roll, too ! Get busy with those 'Ukigumo' in a drawer, if you have to, to hide them. Out of sight, out of mind !
I think, I'm down to just two seedlings after something was hungry during the night & a baker's dozen seeds of the last pale seed that may be #2, which don't seem to be very active, yet. Just some #1 that decided to begin to produce a root, with last nights downpour.

Love the Ukigumo Joseph, blues are my favorites. Good luck!
Shawn I haven't germinated the Tsuki seeds yet been busy cleaning up storm damage, hoping to get them started soon. The reddish flower is lovely!

My MGs are off to a slow start this year, we had a bout of cold weather and the seedlings really got stalled. I had 20 seeds (mostly ebay) that didn't germinate or rotted Grumbling
They are potted all up now and starting to show some improvement just slow going. I have a lot of containers so I bought the Miracle Grow garden hose sprayer and started that last week, I can already see a difference Crossing Fingers!

Had a bluish purple one with white steaks, to flower but the much needed rain continued on, into this morning. Unfortunately, it was fairly flattened by rain drops. I almost forgot, that rain just washes away pollen, too ! Yeah, it's been -that- long, since there has been more than just a few minutes of sprinkles.
Seemed like with some seeds, they'd really sprout gangbuster style & others are reluctant, to ever want to show any indication of ever doing so. Got more than a baker's dozen of labels & been busy pollinating & collecting seeds, to share. I don't have to water, today ! Though that may sound odd, to those of you, that have had more than their share of precipitation..

Joseph, those sure are certainly some rather yellow looking types. What is it, about the color of these, as to what kind of of flowers they tend to produce? Or, does that "curled" leaf also influence the bloom, in some other way, too?

It looks as though some of the more yellow ones I have, are'"Mountain Stream" or 'Keiryu', although they are variegated & not "mutant", type. The one I did grow out from "mixed seeds" from Ronnie, isn't as yellow, but more green & does have that "mutant" curled leaf form.
