Had a hard time deciding where to post this. My friend made this hanger for me...it's HER design. I had an empty wine bottle/carafe that fit just right...filled it with water (the wine was good lol) and added cuttings. I love it!!! πŸ‘πŸ˜πŸ’œπŸ˜πŸ’œ

Ginger, that is a beautiful new plant hanger you've got there! Drooling
I LOVE macrame. I like how versatile your friend's design is. You can probably use it for just about anything-- from a potted plant to fruit (or cuttings, as you chose to do). Happy birthday to you, and give your friend a high five from me. I tip my hat to you.
Thanks for sharing it with us. Smiling

Thank you for the compliments on it. She just started making this particular item. I told her she should think about selling them...she is considering it if she can decide on a fair price. I have several "plain" hangers she has made for me...love them all...so does an anole that hangs out in the fringe. Pun intended LOL

Thank you...actually my birthday was back in May, but Jackie couldn't visit then so she tortured me telling me about it😏 I really love it. Now she's here and I had to share.

It is pretty. I wonder if macrame is coming back? I used to do it in the 60's when it was very popular. I made hangers to fit all of my pots and then did them for my mom. They're certainly nicer than the standard wire or plastic pot hangers.

me too Karen - I did lots of macrame in the late 60's, early 70's and I don't think I could do it now to save my life. Whistling

It seems like everything comes back! I was allergic to the jute we used, but it was fun anyway. I don't think I could do it now.

This Japanese glass float was the last thing I made. I still have it, and have no clue how I made the top of that hanger!

Ohh, it is gorgeous! I understand the knots you used, except I don't see how the loop on top is constructed.

That loop was fairly complicated. I took a class where we all used it on glass floats. It was the one and only time I did the loop like that and I don't have a clue how it is done.

I did hangers too back in the 70s. The glass globe is beautiful...the loop on mine is a metal ring that Jackie covered.

Thanks! At the time I wanted to know if I could do a simple design. This one is truly basic.

Doesn't look basic to me.

I remember I did an owl wall hanging back in the early 70's.
