Hey, all! I received a *very* generous box from a fellow iris enabler chock-full of plump rhizomes. A very hearty THANK YOU for your thoughtfulness. Can't wait until next spring so I can take pictures of my blooms!
Evelyn, I'm so sorry that your Absolute Treasure didn't make it, but I'm glad to know you've gotten a replacement. I hope this one blooms for you next year. It'll be worth the wait.

Evelyn, who is giving you so many mislabled iris? I really sympathize because I've been through that with a couple nurseries. It's so upsetting to nurture a plant along for months or years brfore it finally reveals itself as not what you ordered. It's too late in my life to put up with that. Time is precious.

LOL That is Lawrence the Lobster. My children love crazy pool toys. I was just spicing the pic up a bit and getting iris acclimated to New Englandahs! :P (we also have Timmy the Turtle, and Susie Stingray--Dr. Seuss was born a town over)

Laurie, Evelyn,
Loreley, Cat's Eye, Blushing Grapes, Platinum Jubilee, Louisa's Song and a couple I'm forgetting off the top of my head. I am so excited, as I'm relatively new to the iris gig and didn't have a historical or an SDB. WOOT!

Jan ~ Thank you. When I see it up close without the aid of a camera, I will see how blue it really is.
I see so many pictures of "blue" irises, which in reality, are blue-violet. Even look at the various photos in the database...which one is the "truest"?
Evelyn,
I just ordered 'Absolute Treasure' as a replacement for the one I lost several years ago that someone dug up and took off with while my house was being renovated.
As Jan said, it is a beautiful shade of light blue.As I remember it, it was a true blue.I do know I admired it a lot when it bloomed.
