Hi Anya, I am happy with these roots.
Hopefully I can get them in the ground this weekend.

I would think your roots will arrive soon, as you are in such a cold zone.

Exciting, I did order some from them, but mine probably won't come until mid Oct. I can spend a few months here for a while now that my garden is winding down.

And let those orders roll in..... I can almost smell those roots. At the same time, I wonder how it can be coming in to fall already?

We have a heatwave here this weekend, I don't feel like fall yet.

Summer has been strange in so many ways, the weather started out very unstable with widely varying temperatures that were particularly tough on plants emerging. Then followed by intense heatwave, lasting weeks, ultimately creating drought conditions. At this point, the peonies I purchased will need a good "ground soaking" before planting, to prepare the ground. I would have never guessed such predicaments in June here.

So exciting! My first roots arrived! From Gold City Gardens! I was in a hurry to plant them before the dark so did not take photos. I even forgot about this! Oh, well...

Breck's sent me an email, they are out of a certain type of anemone I ordered. Good thing, money is back in the bank.

Great news about your order, Anya!!
They like to get theirs out early.

Hopefully you won't get a early freeze and you can enjoy your perennials a while longer.

Hope everyone gets some nice roots from Brecks.

I don't like Brecks, I just got rid of all their mailings, what a waste of paper.

No, I meant they waste paper, they sent me a catalogue and also some sort of mailing package. I've already looked at their catalog online. Waste of printing paper.

Anyway, today I dumped out my second compost bin to prepare for the peony roots, black gold I tell you, so beautiful.

I'm not on their mailing list yet I guess. That will likely change now that I've made an order and they know where I live!

Those roots were pretty good sized, LG! And the eyes look to be good sized, too. Those look like real winners

Good news on your compost, So Cal! I hope your place is safe from the fires.

Adelman's posted on Facebook that they had to quit working on getting orders ready because the air quality from the fires is so bad. Hopefully their location is safe from burning. It is such a horrible situation out west.

Take care, everyone.

Thank You LG and Tracey, we're far from the fires but the air quality is bad here, very hazy. But the good news is the temperature is down.
