I hope you all did, too! OMGoodness! I didn't think it would ever happen. I am sure we didn't get out of our (moderate) drought but every little bit helps. And the temps have cooled down some. My Santa in the front yard wasn't too happy with the 80*. I think he has gotten used to having all the leaves fall into his sleigh. Smiling

Yep! Almost all day. Wouldn't you know, the first time I plan to get in the garden in a couple of months and it rains. Oh well, we needed it.

That's great! Maybe soon we'll get some!

We haven't had any rain yet, although they say we may get some tonight, we shall see.
We were at a city park helping to pull privet yesterday and even the privet was wilted, now that is dry!! Crying

Well, it was a great night, because we ended up with almost 2.5 inches of rain! Well worth the 2 short power outages that came with it. Thunder, a little lightning, no hail that I know about. And I don't have to water today!

It's easy to forecast rain here. All I have to do is, look at the calendar and see what days I'm off. That's when it will rain. Rolling on the floor laughing

We didn't get any here yesterday, although we did get 2.6" on the 27th & 28th.

We need about 30" more...

30" more would be fantastic! That might even get Medina Lake to come back up! SAWS (San Antonio's water company) recently stopped pumping water out of what little is left of the lake because the water quality of that water was extremely low.

We're supposed to get 40 mph winds tomorrow after the rain blows through tonight at midnight. 'Possible hail in the hill country. Tomorrow will be in the 40s and overcast. I moved all the big pots out today. I'll be moving a few back under cover. We do need the rain, though.

Last night we went out to dinner about 6:30. When we were ready to leave, the sky opened up and we sprinted to the car. Sheets of rain, lightning, and then hail. We tried to find a tree to park under and wait it out. The water came up to bottom of the car, hail didn't stop, so we decided to make a run for it. It hailed on us for a few more minutes and then we were nearly home. We had 3.03 inches of rain in a very short time.

I was sure my car was dinged all over, but it seems okay today. Haven't looked really closely yet. I don't have to water this weekend, so all is well!

We have sunshine finally! DH said we got 3 1/2" in the rain gauge in 24 hours. Some flooding here, and around San Antonio it's even worse. We always seem to have a Memorial Day flood somewhere in the immediate vicinity. Supposed to clear out by morning. Rain is very disappointing for the businesses around the lakes. Hopefully the lakes will come up a bit. Feast or famine!

Mosquitoes are happy and hungry! I'm dumping pots all around the yard.

Some parts of S. A. must have gotten hit pretty bad. I went to a gardening event early today in S. A.. Rained all the way there and several hours afterward, then finally stopped. I didn't see the bad flooding, but some traffic signals were out...ever come to a very large city intersection, with no signals, and traffic pretty much reverts to a 4-way stop kind of pattern? It's pretty bizarre! Out here, we've had maybe 1.6" over the last couple of days. I don't envy them the flood damage, but oh man, if only some genius could figure out how to spread rain out more, there'd be less flooding. I got rid of some of my plants today, but being unwilling to drive in the heavy rain again, I stayed too long and came home with some new plants. That's not how it was supposed to work!

Please send rain to Kingwood. We need it and rain clouds seem to always skirt around us.

When we lived in SA for 6 yrs, I learned when to get off the hwys in the rain, and when not to take an exit. Starcrest exit was the one that always flooded first. Cars would be swept into the little river than ran next to the Gazebo restaurant there.

On a lighter note, our garden is beautiful green, and lush this morning after all the rain. My rain tank is overflowing. All the hibiscus are blooming and things that I had forgotten, or I thought I'd lost in the freezes, are popping up. I have two pots of amorphophallus that have little ones popping up. Our garden club is having a flower show this coming weekend. The rain came at just the right time to kick start the plants. I even have a plumeria about to bloom.
