Some of us are doing a thing over on Facebook called the 10 day Photo Show. Its purpose is to kind of flood the site with lovely photos to combat the negative vibes that our political situation and the Covid crisis and all the sadness stemming from it have created. It works like this: I post 10 photos of any plant I want from my collection on this thread, one a day, and on the first day, I nominate someone else to post 10. That person starts posting their 10 and nominates someone else to join the thread. Let's see how many people we can get on this thread and see some lovely glimpses into everyone's fab collections!

This is my Day one photo....Cercestes mirabilis, a lovely rare aroid from Africa. And I nominate @Plantladylin to share 10 photos from her collection

Oh Gina, please choose someone else ... I'm going to be extremely busy the next couple of weeks and I know I wouldn't get around to taking pictures each day!

By the way, I've never heard of Cercestis mirabilis but it's gorgeous, love those leaves!!

Hey, it's a great idea to show 10 pictures of plants but for positivity, I would like to show a few pictures of flowers... also I heard somewhere Flowers play a great role to heal your heart in all way.!!

No one seems to want to play so show whatever positive karma you have!

Most of my plants are cactuses and succulents, and so I tend to focus on those on the forums. Maybe I'll use this thread to feature some of my other plants.

Day 1 - Dracaena surculosa 'Gold Dust'



I like plants with flashy foliage, so this plant caught my eye. I had never seen them before, and stumbled upon them at a garden center when I went for gardening supplies. I couldn't resist those spots!

@elgecko - Tapping you in! You've posted some beautiful photos lately. Care to join in?

Day 2 - Big orange bromeliad! Guzmania lingulata I think.


Going to try nominating @Baja_Costero too. See if we can get more people to join in.

Day 1. The public garden across the street (mostly succulents). It has not rained at all since April.

Day 3 ALocasia 'Corazon Aquino'. I am trading an extra today for an Alocasia Silver Dragon.

Day 2. Euphorbia polygona in the public garden, well established a year after installation.

Day 3 - A little black Anthurium. Not 100% sure on the species.

Day 3. xGraptoveria "Fred Ives" in bloom in the public garden.



One of the parents makes tubular (closed) flowers and the other makes flat (open) flowers; these are intermediate.

Day 4. Aloidendron (Aloe) ramosissimum in the public garden, after 9 years in the ground.

Day 4 - Alocasia 'Sumo'

Pardon this guy being in a not-so-flattering location for photos. I had to lug it inside last minute in the middle of the night because of a sudden temperature drop and unexpected blizzard. Just had to drop it somewhere temporarily until I rearrange a space for it. That area of the house is kind of a temporary storage location for things that are getting tossed or donated, so it's a bit of a mess...
Also have to do some major cleanup on it's pot. The Tradescantia in there is getting huge, and the Coleus unfortunately got too cold. But, this is currently the largest potted plant in my collection.

Day 5 for me....Calathea crotalifera 'Yellow Rattleshaker'

Day 5 - Tillandsia xerographica



I have two of these guys. The first one is the larger of the two, and is really curly. It usually hangs out tucked in the leaves of my big Dieffenbachia. The second one is on a little shelf in a sunny hallway where I keep my carnivores.
