By Sharon
December 8, 2012

Be sure your firewood is untreated. Chemicals in treated wood can react with fire and will release toxins into your home.

Many people use wood ash as a liming agent in their garden and fields . If you burn treated wood, the contaminates in the ash can leech into the soil and groundwater. Your food crops can become contaminated as well.

If you get a splinter from chemically treated wood, it can become very red and infected. Be sure to get the splinter removed as soon as possible and treat with homeopathic or over the counter ointment Thumbs up Also, splinters from woods like redwood, cedar, etc., also cause angry infections as well.

GREAT advice Sharon Hurray!

Oak Wilt can be a problem around here. You have to be careful where you get oak firewood.
