I can't decide whether or not to order from the Nikitovka site. They're having an awesome sale, so even if I was unhappy with the seeds, I'm only out $21. But if I am happy with them, I'll have 25 new varieties for $21 with shipping. The reviews I'm able to read, good or bad, are all pretty non descriptive and unhelpful. So, if you have any experience with them, let me know how it went! Thanks!

Yes; I order from them from them a couple times a year. Good prices, great discounts, decent amounts of seed, and free shipping (with qualifying purchase). Two thumbs up from me, so far. International delivery can take up to a month, but is usually quicker. You should give 'em a try! Thumbs up

You will need to get a permit from the United States agriculture department or your seeds will be confiscated by US customs & you will not be able to get your money refunded. Get the permit before you place an order.

Edited to add that I believe I read that all trades with Ukraine have been put on hold by the US since just after the war started.

They're taking orders again! I recently received mine in just 3 weeks (mid July 2022) using their regular free shipping. I've placed several orders from them over the past few years and have always been happy.

They do post the required info for U.S. customers on their site that you need to apply for a U.S. customs permit to import seeds. In experience, I've found this isn't necessary for small orders under 50 packs of seeds. You're taking a very small risk that customs will confiscate your seeds, but they inspect far less than 1% of international packages and honestly these tiny quantities of seeds for home gardeners aren't their target. You CANNOT buy pepper or tomato seeds from them (to the U.S.) if you complete the U.S. customs process; they'll be confiscated at the USDA inspection station. I personally decided to just place small orders of $25 or less and I've never had a problem with anything not making it to my mailbox.

Here are a few hints/observations:
- Their seed counts are pretty generous. Each packet is cutely presented in a tiny plastic ziploc bag with a little paper that has a photo of the plant and its name, and the seeds are in an even tinier ziploc bag within that one. Makes storage easy if you only use a few seeds per season.
- U.S. shipping is free if you buy at least $20 and that amount also earns you 20% off your order. I pay via PayPal because I prefer that to using my credit card for international purchases.
- I've experienced very good germination and strong growth of seedlings with their seeds. Some varieties have grown well for me while others haven't, and that's probably because some are adapted to extreme climates (Ukraine is a big country!); I'm in zone 7b/8a in Charlotte NC.
- Buy seeds directly from their website. I'm seeing reports of fraudulent sellers impersonating them on Amazon.
- All their seeds are grown in Ukraine, but many are for varieties that are Russian, other Eastern European countries, or even other continents. Nothing wrong with that, but if you're looking for Ukrainian heirlooms, then look for specific mention of that in the description or send them a question.
- If you have questions, they're responsive on Facebook and their website's chat feature.
- They're currently also selling an "S.O.S. package" of seeds that they donate to Ukrainian families so they can grow their own food during the war. Consider adding one of those to your cart!

It's not worth the risk to me. They do not honor their refund for packages refused for any reason that is stated on their website. I had to file a claim with my bank to get a refund.

That's fine, Thea. But why did you file a claim with your bank?
-- Was it their fault? No!
-- Was it Nikitovka Seeds's fault? No!
You willingly took the risk, and now you want someone else to pay. Thumbs down
And on top of that, you slander Nikitovka Seeds with a false accusation of not honoring their refund policy.

OR, is there something you are not telling us that proves your innocence?
I would be very willing to broadcast that I am wrong, If I am..... what say you?

Let me rephrase that. They did not honor their refund policy with me.

I'm not guilty of anything. This is not a court of law. You are not a judge. And I don't have to prove anything to you.

You read the delivery instructions? Do you have the required Small Lots of Seeds Permit and did you use it?

You're right, I can't judge your guilt here. It is disingenuous when people refuse to back up their statements, and yet expect people to believe them.

But I can judge you as unconvincing.

This is a good way to give something to a Ukrainian family suffering through war by buying the Survival seed package for them.
Good variety of seeds that we don't see here.

People here are booking vacations at Ukrainian resorts, knowing that they are not going there. But giving just so some Ukrainian families have something.

Yes, have ordered several times since 2021 with great satisfaction.

I just signed up recently to add a review here over on
The Green Pages: Nikitovka

Great seeds, easy to order, reasonable prices & post, more info in the above.

I was afraid when I planted my remaining 2021 Nikitovka seeds just as the invasion was starting that they might be my last. Nikitovka closed for a while but after the russians were routed Nikitovka started right back up!

It made me feel (a little) better to know that even during the disgusting fascist russian invasion Nikitovka, Ukrposhta (Ukrainian Post), & others there are still carrying on as much as normal.

Irpin, where Nikitovka is located, was one of the first mass war crime discoveries (in this /latest/ russian invasion; we already knew of others from the 2014 invasions) and it's hard to imagine anything being workable there after the russians, but here we again have Ukrainian fortitude & greatness; an example for the sane world!

I have my second order from Nikitrova.
Ordered mid December and came mid January.
They are generous with vegetable seeds.
Petunias are by separate colours so only a few but packed carefully in plastic vials.

Hi Caroline,

Were there any issues importing into Canada or additional fees? I'm considering ordering some seeds from them but don't want to deal with any additional hassles.

Thanks

No issues were encountered.
They package the seeds in small ziploc packets so it is light.
Then in brown envelope.
I did have to sign for the packet with our CanadaPostie but no fees.
Technically you might have to pay GST ,but really on a $20. order that would mean a dollar?
I think Canada Border Services has bigger fish to fry than collecting loonies on small seed orders!
The kicker if GST is charged……then you must pay Canada Post about $10 for collecting that loonie.

Ordered mine June 15, 2023 and just received it with personally delivered to the door with signature. June 28, 2023 My second order. I always buy enough to qualify for free shipping. Why pay for shipping if can just buy seeds instead. Had cucumbers and flowers, okra and lettuce my first order and planted seeds this spring with 100% germination.
