I thought it might be helpful for the newer members to hear some suggestions from the mature members on ordering from Solaris, Adelman's, etc. on New Year's Day. Everyone offer up your advice and helpful hints. Some sites will be online at 1201 am. Others (Solaris) will be online when the site comes up. Last year it was more around 10 am or 7am PST. This year could be entirely different. Decide your must haves before you get online. If you are lucky enough to get thru early, order your must haves and check out. Go back and look through later. Don't take a chance on something selling out while you are browsing. Good luck to every one and I hope you get everything you want.

Good luck to everyone, I will just be browsing as I do enjoy that process. I don't have a must have list either.

I hope Solaris doesn't crash. Sometimes you have to go all the way out and back in.

Good luck to all!

Thanks for the heads up!

I grabbed Roselette & Early Bird to expand my bloom season. And Serebro for cut flowers. That takes me from -20 to +24 on the bloom offset table or maybe 50 days of peonies.

Adelman's has some beautiful new varieties of herbaceous and one tree peony that is new and gorgeous.

Solaris has their tree peonies listed. Go go go!

I can't grow these so I'm anxiously waiting for their herbaceous plants. It's kind of odd, a minute ago there was nothing and now I only see Jan Van Leeuwen and Coral Magic. Anyone experiencing anything similar? Edit: now they are up at 7:55 AM Moutain Time.

I got my woody peonies ordered from Solaris. Some are selling out.
I got Yao's Yellow for $45! It's sold out now.

I didn't find any herbaceous that were on my wishlist.

I got 6 from Solaris and 3 from Alderman's. Did I say I was not buying, lol.

From Solaris, I need to look up the rest, mostly tree peonies, I'm ignore itohs and herbaceous there.

Godaisho
Theresa Anne
Duchess de Morny
And 3 more Japanese tree peonies

From Alderman's

Mrs Franklin De Roosevelt
And 2 Japanese tree peonies, Seidai and Shimano Fuji for $45. This is one reason I'm not buying Itohs, yeah for that price.

Nice find, LG! Well done. It definitely looks like a strong year for the woody peonies at Solaris and I can hardly stand to look because they are so pretty!

I think I will go for Vanilla Schnapps and Dreamtime as they have been on my radar for a few years. If you don't have Joker or Pink Vanguard I see they are being sold for $20 which is a steal and a great opportunity to add them to your collection. The photo of Carnation Bouquet in the production row has finally pushed me over the edge and I will be ordering it as well.

Brooks Gardens' catalogue is open and I think it's worth noting that they have Nelda's Joy and Rose Heart. Their Rose Heart definitely looks like the real deal so I don't think it will be hanging around for long!

So Cal, very nice selection. I thought you were not buying😉.

Mrs FDR is unique and should be in every peony garden!

Solaris has great prices on their intersectionals. They also have Pastelegance for $150, which is lower than anyone else's.

Nick, it is fun to find something on your wishlist.

None of the websites crashed this year!!

Very nice SoCal!
I am thinking about Seidai and Shimano Fuji also if they do not sell out before I can, but I had to get others on Solaris first lol.

I was going to ask if any of this should be removed, because it is all growing so close together I wonder if it will cause problems restricting growth come spring.
But LG already mentioned I can not predict what will happen with it thru the winter and should not remove anything because of that!
Saharan Sun from Solaris growing strongly!

Thumb of 2021-01-02/Kestrel36/0dc6b4

I will get another pic once spring arrives, to maybe tell better then.....but do you see any problems if it all makes it thru winter and continues to grow that many stems from so close a location?

Great selections!
Have you seen the picture for Shimano Fuji on Cricket Hill?
They have it listed as Shimane Wisteria as an american name I guess, until you click on it, then in the listing it has the name in Japanese, Shimano Fuji.
