I hope to be able to get Patio Baby eggplant seeds by February to start the plants. Failing that I will have to settle on Ophelia (another dwarf cultivar) since it seems easier to get here.
It will be interesting to see germination ratio on these things and If I don't manage to kill the seedlings.

Another option is Pot Black.

I ordered 6 25-gallon grow bags, they are better to fit my slope then the premium gropro containers I have, so more growing space between the fruit trees and it's sunny up in the slop too. Can't wait for this year to garden.

Dillard, I've never heard of this eggplant. Thank you for the suggestion. It's definitely on my list!

It is in the same class as Hansel, Ophelia and Patio Baby. Main difference is shape. Hansel is a long type, Patio Baby is Egg shaped , Ophelia and Pot Black are basicly round. All four are small fruits on very compact plants and were designed for container gardening.

I'm really looking forward to growing it. I Googled to learn more.

If I get to it, this is what I'm going to plant for eggplant, but it's not on a high priority list.

Well, I will order whatever eggplant seeds I need when I order my tomato and peppers seeds.

I had my first sugar snap pea, it as delicious. I'm waiting a few more, enough that I can make Thai curry.

I wish I have some garden peas, I finally got some oxtails and want to do oxtail stew for my husband, one of his favorite soups. I have carrots and onions. Anyway, it will taste good, but it would be nice to have some. I decide to do more dishes with bones, they are good for your health. I read people are buying collagen pills, this is my version of collagen pills, haha.

Wow it is Two Thousand and Twnety One and it seems like Two Thousand and Twenty was just last week.

Been doing some net searching for Potatoes and Corn.
I found two places that still sell Precocious Sweet Corn , one of the few my brother had truly good things to say about.
May plant some of that but I , at this point in time, am leaning towards old school varieties that were around before I was.

Looking for potatoes, as I said earlier, tisn't what it once was with Ronniger merging with Milk Farm forming Potatoe Garden which went to the big potato farm in the sky last year.
One used to simply enter Potato Seed into a search engine and the main sellers would automatically be on the first page; now if you do not know what/or they once existed , unless you are a one who spend time doing deep searches , you may not find them.
I have found a few others but they are AAA league, not major league.
I have found 4 types I never had before and will probably get those.

Have not done hard core searching for tomatoes and squash but for tomatoes I pretty much know what I want; Squash -- no pre-requirement other than no Acorn Squash.
All vining plants will all go down South, though I may let some volunteer come up up North, and I am rather sure there will be some.

Fertilizers, and soil additives, I have not done the gallons and tens of pounds of material I used to do but as I want some thing other than foliar stuff I have had now for years and I want to see new stuff in the shed rather than ratting looking stuff that been here for years so I will do what I used to really enjoy doing and see what is out there that is not same old , same old but still affordable.
The fact that so many greenhouses and garden shops have closed turns it into mostly a computer search.

Corona Virus be damned, 2020 was one of the best gardens I have had in long time, so, it was a GREAT year and I have no great expectations for 2021.

Eggplants! Y'all know about my experience growing and trying to give away eggplants. But they sure have pretty blooms! Nuff said!

Anywho, I'm here, waiting for time to start my seed. . .

One lesson I learned last year was: I want to decide where my main midsummer crops are going before putting spring crops around. Because if the tomatoes are ready to plant, but lettuce is still in the way, it's so hard for me to come to grips with. But with planning, I could have room for the young tomatos between aging lettuce in May.
Another: nobody wants my leaf lettuce., or any leafy greens.

I took notes last year and know about when the greens will bolt. I will be able to plant cucumbers along the fence where greens are now and will bolt in May.

Sally, nobody wants greens??? I'd be knocking on your door!

Jumping the gun but I planted a small bed of Red Norland potatoes today. The moon and the weather are right. I'm just a month early. We'll see how it works out. Spring fever I think.
