The snow has has just melted off here , but there must be someone out there with wildflowers up already
Hungry for spring here
Hit 50 on Saturday and 60 on Sunday that melted our snow away, went for a walk but no flowers yet

Does henbit count?

Well I guess one man's weed is another's wildflower
I did see lots of it's green in my veggie gardens , doesn't seem to be bothered by a months of snow on top

We have had some dandelions, sooo pretty!!

I saw some chickweed blooming too. Everything else is still dead looking from the freeze.

Henbit here too. I also saw some Spring Beauties (Claytonia virginica). Wish I would see some dandelions. The bees love them and so do I. Yummy good spring food.

Suddenly there are wild onions blooming everywhere! Also some buttercups.

Spiderwort is up and blooming now.

My bluebonnets are starting! the wild violets and spiderworts are blooming, too.

I have 4 different flowers blooming already. Here they are:


Dandelions, few and far between as of right now


Crocuses, so pretty, with those translucent petals it kind of looks like they are glowing in the sun


Clover, I see a lot of this in the shady grass and very little in the grass that is in the sun, so I wonder, does clover not like full sun?


Purple Irises, a few dense clusters of them

Lovely, caters! I find clover growing all over at this time of year, as an understory plant, it gets sun in spring before the trees leaf out. BUT, your plant isn't clover at all. It looks like Hairy Bittercress which also seems to like growing everywhere at this time of year!

What? But the leaves look exactly like that of clover, 3, occasionally 4 lobes. And there are types of clover with white flowers too.
