Here is what happened yesterday.

I bought Shimadaijin TP in the local grocery store yesterday, and while contemplating how to plant it, I googled "Shimadaijin". A couple of pictures (taken by me and posted in the NGA's database) showed up. I know that at least three nurseries used these pics below (the pics were taken by me, but this gorgeous Shimadaijin belongs to my neighbor).

The first nursery I caught using my pictures without informing me was in Ukraine. Grumbling The second one was Les Jardines Osiris (Québec). Grumbling I called Les Jardine de Osiris to let them know the picture was copyrighted and offered them two options; either to send me one of their Shimadaijins and continue using the picture (my preference) or to remove the picture from the website. Unfortunately, they decided to remove the picture. Grumbling I really wanted the plant Grumbling

Yesterday, I clicked on one of the pictures, which led me to the online nursery that we discussed a couple of months ago. As I recall, I wanted to order some mums and native plants from them. So I called, and guess what? The owner was willing to send me Shimadaijin. Since I don't have room for two Shimadaijins in my (small) garden, I explained that I had bought Shimadaijin several hours ago D'Oh! So I asked if I could think of something else. The nursery offers only three TPs; I already have two of them, but I don't have the third one - Renkaku.

How big does Renkaku get for you? Please advise. Hope I will be able to find a spot for Renkaku because I've been admiring Renkaku's white flowers for a long time Lovey dubby Here is a pic from our DB:

Oscar, your Renkaku is beautiful. Thank You! Do you, by any chance have Godaishu? I cannot tell the difference between Renkaku and Godaishu. What is the pink peony in the front?

I always admire your peonies. Hurray!

That is a very nice way to protect your creative rights - I am sure that a lot of place would be more inclined to horse-trade than to pay for a licensed image.

Your garden is stunning Oscar!

I'm glad they compensated you Jasmin. Did the nursery in the Ukraine remove the photograph?

They probably did because I cannot google them anymore Smiling

I would be more than happy to trade pics for plants! I actually offered a pic of Purple Heart to Northland Rosarium because it bugged me to see that "no picture available" graphic. I would be beyond annoyed if someone used a photograph without permission though. So disrespectful!

Hiyamakki, I hope I will get the plant at the end. We shall see how it goes. I don't want them to send the plant now, because the bare-root peony planted in spring may struggle. I wouldn't ask for money, but a little plant, as a token of appreciation of our creative work would be nice. Please let me know whether Northern Rosarium has responded. I am curious. Smiling

Indeed he did! I bought the blant from them the year before despite the lack of picture. I think I saw it a rose database and it caught my fancy.

I asked to acknowledge me as "Jasmin, National Gardening Association". Hope this is OK because the traffic will go back to NGA. Perhaps I should ask David.

Way to go all of you I tip my hat to you. You should think yourself lucky Jasmin that Les J O even answered you. I have submitted an order to them twice this year asking if I can e-transfer the funds as to e-mail their order form with ALL that credit card info would be just asking for trouble; no answer Sad
