Thanks Hetty. We have several local rhodie nurseries here and they are all new to me so I enjoyed going to those nurseries in bloom season.

We also have some amazing Rhodies here in Seattle, which (weather wise), is very similar to S England!
I'll share photos as they bloom!

I think the whole Pacific coast, well, northern Calif. and up, is great for rhodies! This was an old one I took a picture of in British Columbia, there was an entire overgrown former personal garden of them hidden in the woods.

Here are Rhodies along a trail on the eastern side of the Olympic mountains, for the first several miles we were in 20 feet tall naturally occuring "species" Rhodies

Thanks Sue, the hike is called "Tubal Cain Mine hike" it goes up to Buckhorn peak. And yes, I will put these into database!

Margaret, not sure if you're referring to Sue's or mine, mine were seen walking along a trail in the woods and then suddenly for several miles were these amazing Rhodies, pinks and whites! To think that these are wild and in this day and age is also really incredible!
