Yes, they are quite charming, aren't they? I don't know if I startled them more then they startled me, but we just stood there looking at each other. Made for a good photo op though.

Sometimes I wonder what these creatures would do without people and their gardens! Of course, many are killed by pets also, so there's a risk!

I think it will grow back? Are those oak leaves or Magnolia? Can't get a grip on the scale, I've never seen one like that. There are little anoles here though, a LOT of them, they're my favorite non-pet yard critters.

I've always heard that lizard tails are designed so that if a predator catches the tail, it can snap off to save the lizard and later it will grow back. That's live oak leaves, which are all over the place now...most fall in spring.

Hey, managed to get a'hold of a skink the other day. I was pulling up some grass. I've seen many but it's not easy to catch one! We gawked at each other for a few minutes, then I put it back where it was. What a sweet little thing.

I have no idea what kind of lizard these are but we have quite a few of them. They are pretty friendly. I really like them.

As you can see, they can look quite w i d e.

Unlike the link says; these guys are really friendly & they never scurry & scamper when you approach. I can get really close to them. I've begun talking to them & they just cock their head to the side as if they are listening.
