Lovely picture, Char! Orange hawkweed I assume?

Just had a downpour here that has now stopped, and thunder is still rumbling. It's supposed to be like that on and off all day according to the forecast. We do still need the rain.

I thought I could get some columbine and nicotiana seedlings planted before it started but only managed three of the tobacco. My supervisor (canine) was quite happily watching from the covered deck and seemed surprised when I went dashing back under cover as the large raindrops started falling on me.

Tornado touched down just outside of town last night and we had storms. A farm was damaged but everyone ok. Group hug 71/52 and mostly sunny today. Really cooled things down. Back to work today.

Wow Ginny, good to know everyone is ok.

Yes sooby, it's an older image but I thought it fit the hot, hot, hot new world we are in. After it heats up, to me it's already hot with a temp of 70, we're expecting some possibly strong storms this afternoon. I just hope no hail, the garden is looking so good and there's a lot of scapes up already.
Hilarious! My supervisor beats me to cover. G Danes don't seem to like the rain much.

I am glad there was no injuries, Ginny Hurray!

Cloudy today, with on and off showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. We got a shower early this morning. It didn't last long, but it was enough to wet the ground. It is supposed to get windy later this morning, however, the winds are calm now. High today 81 F or 27 C.

Well it is definitely summer here in Houston, TX at about 9:20 AM it is already 85 F with 73% humidity and it feels like 95 F and the skies are pretty cloudy this morning!
Of course, the forecast for the rest of the month of June calls for highs in a range from 86 F to 92 F and lows in a range from 76 F to 80 F which tells me that the rest of
June is going to be hot and humid and the chance of rain will range up to 100% and the possibility of rain will include pretty much every day through the rest of June!

WOW, Linda @quietyard just what is the humidity there in Tucson, AZ if it is anything like here in
Houston, TX then I can understand the comment about the glass of water and heading outside to sweat
some more! Otherwise, I wonder what you are talking about! My Better Half is planning to move away just
because of the very high humidity here in Houston, TX

Went out this noon to run errands and my car coming to work this morning said 78 Blinking When I went out (sleeveless without my jean jacket) it was only 60! Wish I would have taken the darned jacket but I was running late! Felt pretty darned good compared to the 90-101 degree heat we've been having. (Yes Linda - I know that's jacket weather for you until it gets a lot higher Whistling Whistling Green Grin! Green Grin! )

Steamy today. Deadheading was all the garden work I could manage (also nibbled a few raspberries while I was out). Now the forecast rain and thunderstorms have begun, although so far they don't seem particularly nasty. Rain in the morning should usher in cooler, drier weather. 'Tis the season where all rain is appreciated.

Glad no one was hurt Ginny.

The storm didn't bring nearly as much rain as the weather guessers thought, (rain gauge had 1.2" and Japanese Beetle) not as much wind either.
93/72 (HI 102) humidity 51-94 % dew points 70-75.
Thunderstorms expected tomorrow. Crossing Fingers!

It rained yesterday and cooled off really fast! An unheard of high temp today in the 70s. Lows tonight in the 50s, a record for sure! Won't last long, though. So as the saying goes, I'm making hay while the sun shines and plan to work like crazy outside today to try to catch up. I won't even break a sweat! Tomorrow morning is reserved to go fishing; it's the full moon! 🎣🎣.
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.
