What is this plant? I can't figure it out! At first I thought it was a lantana but it smells like basil! Confused I have never planted basil here so this has me scratching my head!

Is it fuzzy like lantana? Lantana does have a smell, I think..
Plant it and they will come.

I have a lantana and lantana seedlings, and they smell nothing like this plant. The lantanas have an odor that smells nothing like this. This one is an exact match to basil in terms of smell. I am certain that it's not a lantana. The only hairs it has are long ones on the bottom of the leaves. Lantana has shorter hairs all along the leaves.

The leaf arrangement is opposite and it's about 1 foot tall. It has not bloomed yet.

Could it, in fact, be a variety of basil?

Rather than two identical photos, show us some different angles, stalk, undersides of leaves, etc.

What is the shape of main stalk — round or square?

Also include a scratch n sniff, if you would be so kind.

I thought the same but seems there are basils with serrated leaves, like this one but the teeth aren't quite the same shape as the ID plant

It looks similar to Basil (Ocimum 'Blue Spice').

Hello everyone @sallyg @DaisyI @Danita @sooby @NMoasis @porkpal @purpleinopp here are some more photos. Sorry for taking so long to respond. The leaves are opposite and fuzzy on the underside but I just noticed today that there are also very tiny hairs on the top of the leaves.
