Found the following picture in the internet, would like to see whether we can create similar adenium by planting a lot of seeds in one pot and expect their roots / caudex to join into 1 trunk. This will be a good learning process.

There will be no rules, you are free to use 1 adenium to 100 adeniums, grow from seed or use existing seedlings.
Everyone are welcome to participate in this challenge.

The winner will get 5 acrons Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

It will be good if we can perform monthly updates with photos to show the progress. But feel free to make a daily update if you want.

Feel free to add anything...

Sounds like a fun challenge. I'm in!
Although I'm worried that monthly photos of mine will look like the same photo, as mine grow at the speed of glaciers Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Walt I looked at mine and it has been 3 months and my seedlings are still barely 3 inches tall. And 2 that are 3 months from the dwarf Adenium are only 1 inch tall.

So I have not repotted them yet.

Never mind at least we will know that your adeniums still alive... Big Grin

My baby seedlings are ready, but can not repot them now as the soil is too wet , and I can not decide on where / how to pot them, as I need to make sure that latter during the next repot, all the adeniums still in one piece, not falling apart.

This is my first Challenger, 15 mixed neglected adeniums. I trimmed their main roots by 1 cm, assume this will create more side roots.

Looks good! I tip my hat to you.

I will have to wait until my seedlings are bigger. But meantime would love to see everyone's progress!

another rivals...
Since I have so many aged seeds, might as well make use of them, since they are not fresh, don't know whether they can sprout or not, I checked with google, the best is only 3 - 6 months, all of these seeds are more than 1 year old Sad

I made 2 pots of pink, 2 reds and 1 white color adeniums. The seeds in the pot are from the same seedpod, if they can sprout then I will expect a more balanced growth.

As requested

This was a neglected pot of seedlings, no tag (sometimes blue jays steal them for nesting material) so I don't know what they are. They were all from the same seed pod. I repotted from plastic to a clay pot 8"wide and lifted them at the same time. I will prune them after giving them some time to adjust.

My seeds were viable even if they were over a year old but I kept mine in the fridge. The germination rate of my fresh seeds and the old ones were about the same but maybe because I used the same media as my other adenium plants. Tried perlite only, they grew but mostly rotted. I let too much moisture in my mini-green house (re: clear plastic cup). On hindsight, maybe I should have removed the plastic cup cover when the seeds sprouted. So lesson learned.

A quick update on the aged seeds, I saw some fungi growing in 2 pots, sprinkled some fungicide on them. And I have sowed another 3 pots with 35 fresh seeds each as a backup.

@chhari55 I see a group of adeniums here that will be good for this adenium challenge.

no, its too much, but this morning I managed to collect some 12 - 15 seeds from the variegated seedpod that has not been blown away, I should have visited them yesterday, probably I can get 30 to 50.

Well if you group them in one communal pot, it only counts as 1 group of multiplants - perfect for adenium challenge.

hahaha.. I think I have created almost 10 pots of this already, but it is good that this adenium challenge has save a lot of space, last year I grown like 50 to 100 from seeds, at the end a lot of them are neglected.

Nice Hurray! Hurray! !

I started 20 of my neighbor's adenium seeds in a communal pot (mixture of sand and perlite) and 18 in individual jiffy seed starting pellets. Hopefully they germinate! Crossing Fingers! He only wants 2 but I will give him 5 and another neighbor 5. Whistling Then I have a few more seedlings for experiments.
