The bloom reminds me of Mountain Laurel or Evening Primrose, but the leaf is more like a Cypress Vine. Any idea what this might be?

@Peggy8b
What exactly are the flowers attached to? Could the following scenario be a possibility?
Mountain laurel and cypress vine are growing into each other? In the picture.....Upper left hand corner is that two leaves of mountain laurel?

Many blessings for a wonderful September!

I suppose it could be. Those 2 leaves do look like Mountain Laurel leaves.

A pic of the whole thing would help in the ID also but I agree with thinking the vine could be intertwined with the bush.

The leaves are definitely of an Ipomoea of some kind, most likely a close relative of the cypress vine. I do not know the exact species, though.

Dunno. Guess it could be fake flowers. I don't understand why people post such nonsense? Can't ever rule out a forum troll or spam just to see how many take the bait.

The flowers look like Pentapetes phoenicea pink form that have been arranged on top of the foliage of Ipomoea quamoclit/Cypress Vine.

The photo and request for ID was made on Reddit's Gardening subforum. I'm beginning to suspect Photoshopped as well.

EDIT: Reddit poster a day later admits it was posted on Facebook and was acknowledged there as a "fake" (made-up) photo. I'm marking this thread 'solved' folks.

I dunno, it's sort of entertaining. I don't think we look foolish.
