Chick Charms® is a registered trade name, it is part of marketing to increase interest in the public. It is the first time this has been done with sempervivum.
I am so excited to see what is coming in 2022, in the way of new hybrids under the Chick Charms® trademark.
Exciting new cultivars by both Chris Hansen and Kevin Vaughn.
There is 3 new hybrids of Chick Charms®
'Lotus Blossom' ppaf, sport of 'Rocknoll Rosette', not the same as 'Brillante'. Introduced by Chris Hansen
'Choco-Latte' ppaf, seedling from 'Deimos', by Kevin Vaughn
'Gold Rush' ppaf, seedling from 'Gold Nugget', by Chris Hansen
'Cherries Jubilee'™ (Sempervivum 'Alanka')

There are 6 Chick Charms® Giants, all are new hybrids.
'Pink Sapphire' ppaf, seedling from 'Pink Lotus', by Kevin Vaughn
'Gold Mine' ppaf, seedling from 'Gold Nugget', by Chris Hansen
'Maroon Mountain', ppaf, seedling from 'Junimond', Kevin Vaughn
'Emerald Explosion' ppaf, seedling from 'Killer', by Chris Hansen
'Steel Appeal' ppaf, seedling from 'Silver Song', by Kevin Vaughn
'Copper Canyon' ppaf, seedling from 'Roasted Chestnuts', by Kevin Vaughn

The pollen parents of these are known, but not disclosed as yet because of the patent process.

Oh dear. I can see that I need to start moving out some more old cultivars to make room for the new guys. But then it will probably take me years to get all of them, if I ever do.

@melissahopper

I can't wait to see how big you get the giant ones to grow. You may have small bushes.

Actually I'm amazed at how quickly this breeding has come. Just a couple generations in two cases and the sizes have gone up dramatically.

Right now I have a couple thousand seedlings from GIANT X GIANT crosses and they are amazingly bigger than the normal-sized seedlings. It will be interesting to see how far I can take this.

Even some of the cobwebby ones are getting big. There should be a 4" cobweb introduced in '23 or late '22.

Yeah I like its very flat shape. it is a good lavender color in spring and then transforms to a bright silver that makes the cobweb sparkle.

That is exciting news. I did notice them in their catalog Nathaniel had shared with me (thanks again), but couldn't find more on them. So thanks for the info! However, the green one is listed as Emerald Explosion.
Now, where to put them in my tiny backyard?? Rolling on the floor laughing
Also, if the catalog states 20 varieties (4 of which being new ones), does that mean they're discontinuing some? I know their FB page said they were going to discontinue the Citrus Sunrise. I am aware that most CCs are semps that were previously introduced; therefore, they can still be found under their original name. I'm just referring to them under their CC name.

I also heard that there were going to be a few discontinued. I wondered which ones they
might be. Anybody know? I'm all ears!

The 20 varieties it lists in the catalog include the four new ones (Lotus Blossom, Cherries Jubilee, Choco Latte, Gold Rush) plus: Great Galaxy, Pineapple Paradise, Butterscotch Baby, Appletini, Autumn Apple, Berry Blues, Berry Bomb, Plum Parfait, Strawberry Kiwi, Silver Suede, Sugar Shimmer, Cotton Candy, Cosmic Candy, Chocolate Kiss, Cranberry Cocktail, & Mint Marvel.
Hopefully it's ok to share that info.

I think I may have just lost my mind.

Just submitted an order for Choco Latte, Emerald Explosion, Gold Mine, Steel Appeal, Pink Sapphire, Maroon Mountain, Copper Canyon, Gold Rush and Lotus Blossom from In The Country Garden. Scheduled to be shipped in the spring.

Sometimes I scare myself.
