Here are some Zwartkop x Tabuliforme flowers: The flowers are pubescent, and flatter than that of Arboreum Zwartkop.

Very nice Evan. Can you show us the blooms when they open all the way?

Ah. I see my post got made into another thread. Or maybe garden.org messed up/ my computer glitched. Thinking Thinking I thought I posted this in the Semp chat. Anyway, I'm still waiting on those flowers. It could be anytime. There's going to be a frost at night for the next 3 days. Blinking Something interesting about Tabuliforme, and it's hybrids, is that they seem to have pubescent flowers. Flowers are also a lot flatter. Anyways, forgive me for posting Aeoniums in the Semp forum.

Unusually cold for the Bay Area.

Thats actually perfect. I have some hybridization in mind. I suspect the cold spell is what is making the flowers open so slowly. Blinking

That would make sense, The cold would slow everything down.

Some Aeonium Haworthii are pushing out Flower stalks. They seem to flower during the early summer. Should be hardy down to 25 F

Seems like majority of my Aeoniums are cold hardy down to 30. I'll bring those inside just in case. I really should be focusing on Haworthii and simsii hybrids, with weather in the bay area becoming colder.

They are forecasting 25-27 F lows for the next three days in the north SF Bay Area. Have to cover a few citrus trees. Semps should love it.

Still going down to 33 tonight. I'm preparing for even lower. Better safe than sorry. Some Aeoniums like Canariense can't handle frosts. Haworthii will love it. Different weather stations say it could go as low as 30 DEGREES. Blinking

We're going down to 20-23 degrees over the next 4 nights. I brought all of my potted tender succulents in from my unheated greenhouse and storing in an unheated room until this is over. Also thought it a good idea to wrap the outdoor faucets...

At first they were saying we might get into the teens. I am very thankful that we are staying in the 20s.

Our Bi-Mart had succulents for $3.89 each in big 4" pots. I picked up 3 Echies and 3 other misc. succulents and want to be sure nothing happens to them. I'm hoping to do some succulent container combos when it warms up a bit Whistling . The price was sure right for them!

I moved most of my plants into the garage. Now all we can do is hope for the best for the outdoor ones. And hope the frost hardiness info I got is accurate. At least I know the Aeonium simsii and Haworthii will be fine and happy. I'll test their frost hardiness, if they can't survive a mere 30 degrees (5-10 degrees above the temp they are hardy to), they aren't worth my trouble. Hope you guys are fine with those cold temperatures. The heating in this old house isn't great, practically no insulation. (I guess it's not supposed to be getting this cold) Group hug

I have a number of different tinder type Succulents that are on the covered patio. I just keep them dry and they have survived this way for four or five years

Looks like it went down to 30 last night. Plenty of frost damge everywhere. I'm not risking anything for another night, I'm moving everything into the garage. Crying I'm likely to lose a bunch of plants.
