Not pushing Amazon or this brand, just the concept.

Mostly for pothos, I think they'll be perfect. No tangled roots, easy to watch individuals.

Lots of similar things out there. Some vials are too small (these are the diameter of a quarter, should be pretty versatile). Many beautiful bamboo holding racks but twice the price and don't come with vials, etc...

This seems like a decent buy. Comes with vials and racks, space for 24 cuttings, looks sturdy and well-designed.

Great idea, perfect for what you described. I tip my hat to you.
I've used them awhile for adding live flowers in large arrangements, in wreaths , arches and swags for the holidays.

Thank you for the feedback, glad they've worked well for you.
Did you use these or something similar?

Fingers crossed but I think having each cutting/roots so viewable will be helpful. Spacing between tubes in the racks looks good. 24 cuttings should be sufficient, small footprint on the racks. Psyched.

Will be under some of the best lighting out there IMO, once needed, so I'll be posting some pictures.

Hi bumplbea,

Sorry, but what are swags?

It works. Was trying to figure out how to support a 34w Jungle Dawn, and noticed that metal frame out by one of the dumpsters. It embarrassed the other manager but I scrubbed it down, spray painted it black, and it is absolutely perfect.
Want to get the tubes under there but it's crowded. Super happy with them, 24 pothos at the moment, but for finer-rooted plants there's no chance of the roots getting all tangled and damaged when you try to undo them.

Thumbs up Perfect!! I really love the looks of that setup! Would you mind telling us where you got them? I am always sticking cuttings into jars and vases of water; I have them in the kitchen, one of the bathrooms and on the screened porch. I'd love to have something as nice looking as those in your photo for rooting and growing cuttings!

I had an ad pop up on my FB page earlier today for 3 vials to root African Violet leaves and they were nothing special, just 3 small, plain vials.

I got this one on Amazon 2 or 3 years ago and had the idea that I'd paint the wooden frame red to match stuff in my kitchen but I just never got around to it.

Sure, link is in my first post.
Different options for how many tubes and racks, and the diameter of the tubes. I went kinda fat but even a bit fatter if I bought more!

Great job by the seller. Ordered them Tuesday evening and got them Friday morning. Great packaging, each tube individually wrapped in foam. Acrylic is much heavier and sturdier than I was hoping for too.
Highly recommended.

Confusing last post maybe.

To clarify, the beakers are thick glass and packaged for transit very well.

The racks are heavy duty acrylic, thick and very sturdy. Cut-outs on the end to lift the whole shebang securely. 12 tubes per rack, I bought a 2pk of the over-sized ones. Despite being punctured in transit everything arrived in great condition.

We strive hard in our shipping department for this kind of work and do a damn good job with 2 people at a time shipping 100-250 packages a day, but they've got a damn fine crew as well.

We sell the lighting and the cat pan (they work great).

Little bit of dumpster score and a can of spray paint...can you tell I grew up in NC?

Never used glass containers this deep.

Thinking I should drop the water down about 1" above the nodes?

Fun stuff!
I say yes, water not too deep above nodes. I think it helps the water stay aerated.
I have toyed with hanging a 'curtain' of rooting jars at the kitchen window instead of a valance curtain across the top.
Plant it and they will come.

As long as the leaf isn't covered, and the node stays covered, it's just a matter of preference.

This is an attractive setup for water-rooting. I usually use MUCH bigger snips of Pothos, but I believe these should work. I love the scientific look of your vials. That small amount of water would not work with my schedule, where I don't have much time for plants except on the weekend.

I also just usually use whatever glass vessels that would have otherwise just been thrown away w/o being reused first. There is no glass recycling here.

If everybody did everything the same way, there would be nothing to discuss.

I love saving odd little jars, and we DO have recycling options. But who can resist jars perfect for rooting?๐ŸŒฟ or for the little short daffodils?
Plant it and they will come.

Me too, at least I used to.

For pothos in particular I've had excellent results from a single leaf and node.
