Clint that's hilarious! I totally had a similar experience, being shy to say its for plants, but then when he started asking questions I came clean so he'd get me the right size! Thanks for the great story! I think you need to go back and let them know - it'll make their day!
That's priceless Clint! I love your response that your chicks are 2-3" wide! I bet they're telling their friends about the crazy guy that came in to buy chicken grit. Our feedmill thought I was more than a little strange for using it for plants too.
Me too Lynn, lately anyway!! I bought mine in an upscale Seattle chicken store - very pricey and urban! So I don't think I was the first person to use this for plants, he began asking about chickens but could tell by my expression that I didn't have a clue - so he asks "are you gardening with this?"

I get stone dust from a gravel pit. Luckily the machine operator that hauls it for me already knew I was nuts.I gave up on the chick grit when I started needing a lot. Now I add the rock crusher dust to my planting mix and add it to my gardens.
