I found these in Walmart and look cute. I just transferred to a bigger pot hoping to make it grow faster.
Anyone know the ID of these kalanchoes?

It looks like this one, K. fed:
Lavender Scallops (Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi)

Tiffany, I looked at that but mine seems to have different edging and leaves are more curved-shape.

I also looked at this but also not sure:

Maybe it's smaller than I think.

It also looks like K laxiflora to my eyes. with those scallopy and blackish leaf edge

Tofi, I agree, online search does look similar to the K Laxiflora.

I would like to see this plant next to K. marnieriana and K. fedtschenkoi.

Ursula's pics at the database entry are K. fedtschenkoi, not K. laxiflora.

Tiffany, yes, you actually did mention it when I asked for an id. I truly don't know which one it is.
Shall I ask for it to be moved?

I took some pictures this morning of my two plants, focusing on new growth.

I bought them at a local nursery, where I was allowed to "dig" around in their greenhouse. I will ask the owner.

Gigi, thank you. I meant physically in the same pic. : ) I know the other two plants well, and they can look very much alike in individual pics, and a young stem vs. an older one, and in tons of light vs. mostly shade...

Ursula, those are gorgeous pics! They are consistent with what I've seen K. fed doing at times over the years. If you have the time and interest, are you able to add a pic or two from a little farther back, to help with the sense of scale?

Ok, here we go! I just took some pics.
The 1. plant was sitting in bright light and is much smaller



the 2. plant is the plant I had entered into the database and was sitting since then in slightly lower light.

here comes the interesting part, this plant is producing plantlets from/in the flower spike/cluster!! I have take more pictures later on.....I only saw this before on my Euphorbia x lomis and some Daisies in my garden!!!

Those pics are consistent with K. fedtschenkoi. I love those plantlets too!


They are part of why I have enough plants some summers to make a statement in my landscaping. Those form on the stems that I've cut to enjoy the flowers over winter, and you probably already discovered that removed leaves make tons of babies too. Some winters I save more than others.

I need to get my hands on a K. laxiflora plant to be able to see how it is different from K. fed & K. marn. MCG doesn't have any for sale. Walmart doesn't have K. laxiflora on their website, but that's not proof that it's not that or that there aren't specimens for sale at one of its stores.

@tofitropic , do you have K. laxiflora in your lineup? If so, could you take some pics? Do you have the other two?

Dumb question, do I just delete my two laxiflora entrees and then enter them myself as fedtschenkoi?
