The picture above is a close up of some patches that have come back after dying back this winter.I was trying to cover a stump by making it look like a big clump of sedum but as you will see in these pictures i am going to have to add more.
Thumb of 2013-04-10/jojoe/374645
One reason i wanted to cover the stump is because of the proximity of it to my rock garden.Thinking once it got established i could remove the rock around it and work it into the sedum & semp bed next to it.
Thumb of 2013-04-10/jojoe/8db812

What should i feed sedum with especially the stringy sedum or groundcover.I thought it was Sedum 'sarmentosum' but not positive. Whistling

Yes, it is S. sarmentosum. A great sedum.
You might be surprised at how fast that stump will be covered over this spring.
And WOW, just look at the start your other sedum are off to. You are way ahead of my area of the U.S.
That rock garden is going to be wonderful. Good job Jelinda. Hurray!

I was very impressed with how many little ones are on the 'blue spruce' it was only a couple of pieces last fall. You can see the difference in the 'Angelina' i just planted next to it recently. Thumb of 2013-04-10/jojoe/ce0e0d

Joe, you asked about feeding. I usually feed my sucs an organic food at low dosages. But if you go with the commercial stuff at the store, at least half the dosage suggested on the label. I use food that I can put into my water, but if you added soil that already has food, then you don't need to do further feeding.
Anybody else has suggestions for Jojoe?

Lynn, you are correct so has a handful of pea gravel from the bed she thinks looks better outside the bed.She has been walking about a month so she has a lot to do!!! Hurray! Hurray! She pets the semps, she takes one finger & pets each leaf, which is better than my DGS who removes all leaves. Whistling Whistling

I was specifically think about how to give that stump a boost.I did empty a watering can of superthrive over it.Maybe that will help, the Sedum just seems to be growing a lot slower than whats in the bed.But it's a stump, the tree was cut winter before last so no decaying material yet.I added compost around it and over it but we had so much rain from Dec.-Feb. that i think 3 months of rain could have washed away a lot.I was hoping it would get well enough established to remove the rocks around it. It died back this winter something i didn't realize it was going to do,that may make it difficult to accomplish what i want.Maybe if i added an evergreen Sedum ground cover it would have growth on it in winter & both in summer. Is one of the darker ones like 'voodoo' or 'dragons blood' an evergreen or do they all die back in the winter.

I would like to make this a part of the bed.

I love the roots spiraling out from the trunk. Most of the ground type hardy sedum go at least semi dormant during winter.
Sedum album and S. 'Angelina' are both everygreen here in my zone 8.

I think it's because we had such a mild winter this year.
Will working out in the long bed today, I found a kazillion seedling from one of the sedum and a few semp/jovi seedling that are just now germinating. Blinking

S.'John Creech' dies back to huh ? Well guess i will just have to wait for it to come back every spring.Don't know how else to keep it hid.I wish it wasn't so close to where i put the bed but i will figure something out.My S.'Blue Spruce' grew some this winter but it & S.'Angelina' don't die back.I don't know how that would work during the growing season,i think the stringy sedum may choke out S.'blue Spruce' & 'Angelina'???
