Humboldt, what a cute little tree frog!

@Gina1960, I love that Barking Tree Frog!

The main tree frog that I see around here (and humanely euthanize when I can catch them) is the highly invasive Cuban Tree Frog:

This is a chunky little native Southern Toad; I've seen a few around this year:

Cute frogs! Except the invasive. I take too any pics of frogs but they're so darn cute.

The ones around here are very cute, always happy to see them.

How do you euthanize the Cuban Tree Frogs?

Humboldt most people put them in the freezer. I don't euthanize them myself. They have been here for years already. It's like the cat is already out of the bag in spades. This is a highly contentious topic among Florida plant folks. It's best to just leave it alone

I love seeing all the green frogs, all I have is the Cuban frogs, I personally don't euthanize them, however they got really bad on my front porch years ago, pooping all over, some as big as five inches across. would jump on you at night if you went out the front door. My husband took care of them since I needed to paint the porch, I didn't ask how he did it. I do see snakes eating them, makes a horrible screaming sound, like a cat in distress.
My dad had one come up through his toilet in the house last year....totally creepy.

Cuban tree frogs eat our smaller native frogs, which is why we don't have nearly as many natives around anymore.

I think it was about twelve years ago when I had my first Cuban Tree Frog identified by a professor at the Univ. of Fla. He told me how to humanely euthanize it by placing a small amount of something like Orajel for toothaches (or other product that contains benzocaine) along the top of the frogs head/neck area. The benzocaine puts them into a torpor state and in about half hour they are unconscious. Then I put them into a plastic bag and into the freezer where they won't revive. In nature when weather turns cold, frogs/toads naturally go into a torpor state and their metabolism slows; when the weather warms again they slowly come out of it but if it stays cold for extended periods they die. My husband doesn't use the benzocaine, he just puts them in a plastic bag and into a freezer. Sad

Sally I have 2 kings of frogs in the greenhouse. Aquatic ones that live in the pond and stream, and tree frogs. They both do hatch out children in the greenhouse!

Super cute!

If I was a frog that wasn't living in the wild, I'd want to live there too.

That frog just had a weird face. It's cute but it sorta reminds me of the buddah. Maybe it's the way it's sitting
