Hi everybody! Wish everyone a super nice Thanksgiving this year. Though I have not been able to frequent here as I used to, you all have been in my thoughts. I hope that everyone is doing well and that you were able to plant all your new purchases by now. Is anyone looking forward to Adelman's black Friday sale? Smiling

Gay Paree is always cheerful and is great for this wonderful day.

Thanks Anya and Helen!

Anya, I maybe able to add only one but I shouldn't though. Things are getting really crowded out there.

Helen, Greenland looks so gorgeous! I hope you can get it when it is offered for sale somewhere. I don't know much about Melissa and Sweet Lemonade but they both look to be awesome yellows.

I think Tracey has Melissa, remember seeing pics here and it looked amazing. Think Craig has Sweet Lemonade if I'm thinking about the right plant. I just ordered both, hopefully they'll grow well.

I saw Sweet Lemonade potted at Adelman's when we had APS meeting there. It looked beautiful.

Only one????? If only I had that kind of restraint. That might be the plan going in but if it is something beautiful and the price is good that will probably be the one plus many more. *Blush* *Blush* Good for me right now is I am in Canada and am not aware of any sales going on here.

Helen, Greenland is a phenomenal plant. Strong stems, no staking, and beautiful large double blooms. Also is a very pleasant smelling flower. My new favorite white.

I accidentally knocked this bud off of the plant. I put it in a quart size mason jar on my kitchen counter and one week later it opened and lasted over one week. Great plant.

In case anyone is interested, Kvan Bourgondien is offering 50% off all in stock items. They have a number of Japanese Tree peonies for half off at $22.50 each. Among the selections available are ShimaNishiki, Hanakisoi, and Shimadajin. High Noon is also available for a couple $ more.

Gary, how early did it bloom for you? Do you recall its bloom coincide with other peony blooms in your garden?

Helen, my husband recognizes that expression on my face. He crassly says "you're looking at peony porn, aren't you!"

Helen, if I recall correctly, it was a mid to late bloomer.

Happy Thanksgiving all! I hope you had a wonderful day.

I also have Greenland and it is very beautiful. The stems are strong and it holds its blooms up well.

Here is my bloom from April 11 of 2020

Thanks Gary and LG! I was hoping that it would be a very early bloomer like about the time of Athena. Wow, LG! Your Greenland looks as beautiful as Pastelegance!

Thanks Karen! I got mine from Solaris Farms! And that photo was from 2020, sorry. Vanilla Schnapps was blooming on the same day.

I want to post this picture from the Jokes Thread in the Sandbox Forum because it was so applicable to me yesterday. My mood was just exactly this as I was considering whether I should get Greenland. Hilarious! Hilarious!

Nice one, Karen. No doubt about 100% of the people in this forum.

I was looking at Greenland for a few years and hopefully whatever is growing in my backyard is going to be true to the name. LG's plant looks like one and it blooms at the right time, I am not sure if Gary got the right one, though. I've heard it is one of the earliest.

Karen,
That is me every day! I have already placed an order for perennials to be delivered in May. Plus I have two more amaryllis coming after watching Northlawn Gardens' YouTube video last week. I just go with it, because I just love flowers so much.

Alex, I look forward to seeing your Greenland. Hopefully it will bloom this Spring.

Glad to hear that is the case, Alex and LG! LG, totally agree with your thoughts of going with it. Come to think of it, I don't believe that I ever regret getting plants esp. those that I have been wanting for awhile. During these winter months, it is so nice to reminisce by looking at pics that I took during the growing and blooming season.
