Yaaay I love the "Year of the Adenium"…wait what? I think I said in the C&$ thread that my New Year 2023's resolution is no more plants! 🤥

Here are my blooms for these year:
Pink Diamond - a very happy adenium.

Red Eagle (maybe a sibling of TJoe's adenium)?

Happy New Year!
In the recent cold spell here I protected exactly zero of my Adenium. Consequently I have exactly zero blooms. I only protected some blooming orchids and my Vandas (that lose their lower leaves at temps below 40 degrees F) as well as a couple of rare plants that I would have a difficult time replacing. They are all back outside now and I only moved them in because of the freeze warning. It only got down to 34 here but it stayed cold (for here) for four days. All my Adenium (hundreds) are dormant at this point. On the positive side, if they survive future wet and cold, I expect a banner year for growth and blooming.
Fun fact, I can fit 23 Vandas into the space it would take to store my four largest Adenium.
@GigiPlumeria I'm just a little envious of your January 1 blooms.
Be kind, we all struggle sometimes.

Awww 🥰 hopefully we will all have more blooms this season! It does help with keeping their blooms being inside the camping tent or indoors in our tub.

Here are more blooms from the ones that were in the tent:

And my favorite pink because of the swirly petals:

My vandas are attached to my Fortune plants so I could not bring them in. I only really saved the desert roses and some succulents and plumeria cuttings.

Fun fact: my Bougainvillea, roses and succulents that were left to fend for themselves survived!

I'll just have to live vicariously through others blooms until spring.

I'm glad to know though that they can handle 34 degrees unprotected. One of the member said, some of her plants probably survive because there was no frost? Yes I didn't notice frost.

I am planning to let some of my adeniums that are in the tent go dormant. If they have buds then they are allowed to come out. It is just too stressful to bring them back in a week or 2 when we get below 35 degrees again.

The papers said we had protection from heavy frost during our cold spell because we had heavy cloud cover. I was very happily surprised by how much survived this past week.

Yes, it is a root trained plant, now in 6" pot, I need to buy an 8 inch shallow pot to fit this into it

The rains are killing my adeniums, it has been raining on and off since Christmas, almost no sun at all, rains everyday , until next Sunday as per weather forecast. Have lost 1 big size, 2 medium sized and 1 character adenium so far..

TJoe and @Aashna too, here I am thinking you don't have winters so your Adeniums are safe D'Oh!

@antsinmypants Thea are yours indoors with grow lights or you are still warm and have them outside.

I left some Adeniums inside the tent. Some dropped all their leaves and others are growing new leaves Confused even without being watered for 2 weeks now? Others are showing some dehydration. I just hate having to scramble to put them back in when the weather forecast says 35 below!
