Since you started this nice, fresh thread Sherri .. . I went out to find some pictures of my broms. I've made this hanging (or soon to be) planter with Aechmea Perez, and a division of Billbergia 'Casa Blanca' plus a tillandsia. Both broms have new pups and everybody's happy in there, except I'm not keen on the red planter Sighing! Wonder if I can paint it?

I never did catch the bloom on Aechmea Perez with a flower open.

I like the Maculata better with it's black seed pods. The yellow flowers aren't as pretty with the bright pink calyx.

Teensy little ornamental pineapple, great color on this one.

This big clump out front has decided to be red, since it's had so much sun this spring. It's brother around the corner is in more shade and is still all green.

I like your combined basket Elaine, you made me go out and look at my A. Perez and it is blooming, almost missed that. My aechmea blanchetiana isn't blooming yet.

Update on the little ornamental pineapples - another, with flowers open, so cute.

And hiding in the shadow of the big, showy blanchetiana was this nice new flower spike of B. Celebration. Several more coming along out there, too.

Lots of cool pics out there this morning. The colors of the flowers are so clear and bright this time of year.

A little Costco geranium along with a Neoregelia Osser x but I can't remember what it was x'd with and can't find the label. Thought it was in my inventory but nada. Shrug! Shrug!

Nice arrangement, Springy looking.

This Aechmea Nudicaulis rubra got three blooms at once, missed the yellow flower on the one, fell off before I got the photo.

This bromeliad caught my eye.

Thumb of 2023-05-10/elgecko/1fb5b0

It was kind of an impulse purchase.
I like to know the name of what I'm getting to know how big is going to get.
I have very little room.
I'm hoping it does not get much bigger and if it does how it pups and I can keep starting over with a smaller plant.
Anyone have any guesses of an ID?

Flaming Sword Bromeliad (Lutheria splendens 'Splenriet')

It mine are about twice that size, they send pups from the top of the plant after they flower, what we call an upper pupper. Careful not to overwater them, make sure it is in a good drainage soil, no direct sun, they burn easily.

Ooh, that's pretty, Scott. Pink stems with purple flowers, wow. Nice pictures.

Got some flowers on 'Halleluja' this week. So nice when I can catch them open.

Very showy plants Scott, Elaine and Sherry. Lovey dubby
I had a bunch of various broms under a tree that was dying. DH wanted to take the tree down so I removed all the broms so they would not get stepped on. Wow, when I took them out I was stunned with how many offsets there were. I donated about 6 dozen to a local group that maintains a garden open to the public. I still have more than that to replant. Love the jazzy pattern on the 'Adventura' Sherri. It's really a pretty one. I'm allowing my orchid collection to slowly dwindle, but seem to be acquiring more broms these days. It's high time for a visit to Tropiflora for me . . .

My A. fasciata are bursting into bloom here, too. Just took these pictures this morning. Little one's got blooms already but the big one is still developing. I love that these last so long.
