Last night a deer ate the top of several of my rudbeckia triloba. In the past, they've bitten the top of my sun flowers which has caused the sun flowers not to bloom. I'm wondering whether the rudbeckia triloba might still bloom?

My Rudbeckia looks quite different and the deer leave it alone...?

Apparently this one is well, "tri-lobed"?

The poster's photo shows true three lobed leaves, rather resembling giant ragweed.

It does seem to resemble Giant Ragweed (Ambrosia trifida)

Kinda looks like bidens...

I have rudbeckia triloba... will try to get a picture...

Deer do eat rudbeckia... Love it here in middle GA.

Seems like R. triloba will bloom after being snacked on... seems like it blooms off and on throughout the rest of the season right up until frost at my house.

I guess I'm less bummed that the deer are it now that I know it's just ragweed. I dug it all out. Is this rag weed too?

I wouldn't actually say that it was any fuzzier than R. Hirta, or R. Fulgida...

R. Hirta is in full bloom at my house... unfortunately, it blooms once and dies here.

I do not think those are Rag weed, I do think they are Rudbeckias. here are few comarison of bot. Ragweed photo is from
https://www.ontario.ca/documen...

Ragweed can be trilobed, or five lobed, but ther lobes formation and venation are quite differ from rudbeckias.

As Tofi posted... plenty of other plants they could be...
I would avoid removing possible desirable plants... just because someone called it a weed...
Lots of lookalikes in the plant world...

like this one:

Not ragweed...

@TrowelError
The deer think my garden was planted just as a salad bar for them.
I started using Plantskyyd a condensed form of Bloodmeal in pellet form. Or purchase Bloodmeal at bb store is not as spendy. Once Sprinkled around the perimeter in early summer as plants set bud is all it takes. I have seen many flowers that I haven't seen in years.
I’m so busy... β€œI don’t know if I found a rope or lost a horse.”

Got a couple pics of rudbeckia triloba closer in size to initial pic...

The more I look at these, the more I wonder if they weren't R. triloba as originally thought.

They actually have a tech term...
"Benign neglect".

I prefer the French term...
"laissez faire"
Hmmm...
