At this time of year when around here in N J it gets cold outside, it is always nice for me to walk into the greenhouse, many of the Fall blooming Cattleyas have a really lovely scent, along with Sharry Baby. It is my little oasis!


This little Brassokeria Mayan Spirit has some more blooms

and the Ceratostylis retisquama blooms whenever

Phalaenopsis Yaphon Image has a third flower. I love its lemony yellow with pink spots.



Phalaenopsis deliciosa is a constant bloomer but very particular about getting too dry. The flowers are only about 1/2 inch wide.

Ursula, I love the trio. I wonder if it'd be cute to train Mediocalcar decorum onto a Christmas tree topiary structure, it'd be like a tree with golden ornaments!

About growing the Mediocalcar into a Christmas tree? That might be a toughy. Jade plants are much more suited for that.... if I might go off topic!😄😄This was quite some years ago. ( It didn't make it through the door this year and stays in the garage over the Winter. But a slightly smaller descendant made it inside instead.)

Well, That's a new one ! Jade Plant/Xmas Tree.. Better than a Live evergreen dropping needles all over the carpet... You can hang a Cedar Scent car air-freshener amongst it branches for the effect.

I've had this dendrobium for 10 years and after many years of not blooming, it's finally starting to bloom!

I've been out of town for a bit and the 3rd grade neighbor did an outstanding job of looking after my plants! 3 Vanda are in spike and a few things opened.

This Pelatantheria insectifera is a happy camper this Fall. It is extremely attractive to Mealies, and in many years after moving back inside, I was constantly inspecting the buds and having to spray with Neem. Not this year, for once the plant is staying clean and continues to bloom.
