I may have to find another Renanthera. I had a few, but they died in 2010 in the greenhouse deep freeze when the heater failed. Surprisingly, a lot of my Vandas made it. But none of the Renantheras, this photo was from a long time ago. The bright cheery red make me want it again

BigBill send me this yesterday
This is my most recent bloomer. Paph. Cape Arago. It is Paph. Hanes Bay x Paph. John Hainsworth.
This one is very pretty from the large dorsal, spotted basally, large petals with a creamy yellow picotee and a glossy red pouch. Honey/yellow staminode.

Happy New Year all. Hurray! Great way to start the year, Ursula. Just love your collection. I have some buds that will be opening soon. Cym's, Zygo's and a couple of Paph's. And looks like the first time for a Phrag.

Andy's Orchids is having a New Year's sale - 20.23% off everything, including shipping. I love their plants! But I'm afraid to look because I'll find something I can't live without and I'm to the point of, for every plant I add, I have to rehome something.

I moved Cattleya Fire Magic 'Solar Flare' from an east facing, nothing obstructing the view to a south facing, some obstruction last summer. I may have to find a space back in the east facing side. I had heard that a change in light might affect the blooms but this is radical!

This year:

Lucy, I think the This Year pic is the 'normal',whatever that is, look to your Cat. I Googled Cattleya Fire Magic 'Solar Flare' and that is what they show. But to be honest I think both are very pretty.
And thanx for the Andy's reminder. Now that you have twisted my arm(lol) I will check him out. We are about 70 mins from his nursery.
