We came from here
The thread "Our Orchid Blooms in March 2024 ๐Ÿ€" in Orchids forum

Today is April 1. and we are not kidding. This is the new thread for the month. Smiling

My old Rhyncholaelia glauca didn't look so hot on its old, decaying mound, so a couple of years ago I took the remainder of the plant off that and anchored it with a bit of coconut fiber in a claypot. It opened a nice bloom, just perfectly timed to start the thread.

Very pretty orange Cattleya! "Kadaoka" is a very famous clone that has been around and is a proven breeder too.
Love it!!!

Lovely start for April, Ursula. I love the close-up of the tiny Stelis blooms. Not only a pretty color, but fuzzy, too. So cute.

Nothing new for me today, Den anosmum continues to flirt with opening - maybe tomorrow. A couple of flowers are halfway at least.

I do have some very large ! Phal flowers opening in my bathroom, though. A miracle that I've seemed to find the sweet spots for these, bottom of my hanging area in the pool cage for summer, and indoors for their bloom time in winter. The mini-Phals on the same mount are fading already after a month's bloom, so I could wish they would co-ordinate better, but still enjoying this.

Elaine, they are huge indeed! Thumbs up

Nick, I did color the eggs as I usually do. But I also included in my picture my attempt of making Marzipan-Chocolate Bunnies, which had us and everybody else cracking up....Hence no pic from me this year๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

Unless you insist?๐Ÿ˜‚

It appears that the bunnies stayed up late on Saturday for a bit too much 'Happy Juice'!
Stand up straight fellas!!!

Oh what a nice batch of colored eggs! Boy those take me back.

I have zero talent on making any thing except paper dolls. And I'm embarrassed *Blush* to admit I would go for the plastic eggs since I'm not good with decorating or coloring eggs. The most bunnies I get are the chocolate ones from Russel Strover. There is a big chocolate outlet store here near The Villages area.

They're fabulous, Ursula. Hurray! Much more fun than the perfect ones would have been. And in the final outcome, what's more valuable than a good laugh? Rolling on the floor laughing

When my kids were young we used to decorate Easter eggs. I couldn't stand to waste the egg so we'd 'blow' the raw eggs out into a dish, and have a batch of personalized omelettes, or fancy scrambled eggs for Easter breakfast, too. The decorated eggs then would keep beautifully from year to year and some of them were very fancy. Wish I could find some pictures of them. But of course when it came to moving to Florida from our family home in Utah, those eggs just were too fragile to worry about. They're gone.

Now I get fresh 'free range' eggs from a friend with chickens, and they're beautiful natural colors.

I think those are my all time favorite chocolate Easter bunnies Ursula. They have a certain (too much Easter Happy Juice) charm you will never be able to replicate.

My daughter's Girl Scout troop spent their entire meeting last week murdering and torturing Peeps. According to the kids, best meeting ever! Unfortunately, they couldn't find any liquid nitrogen.
