I would like to identify, and find, this daylily. As I recall it was about 18-24" tall, bloom was about 5.5 to 6". As in the photo it was a lemony yellow, green throat, ruffled edges. I neglected to record this one in my spreadsheet, but think the name may have been that of a person. Any help appreciated.

As you know, Donna, that could be a thousand different flowers. The height, shape and color look like Demetrius to me but there are plenty of others that look like that.

And that is the problem!!! Demetrius rings no bells. Seems to me it was a two or three word name, named for a person. I think I'd recognize it if I heard/saw it, though of course after all this time that's not certain either. D'Oh! D'Oh! D'Oh!

I have Isle Of Capri that looks very similar to that, but named for a person??? Hmmm.

At one time I had some from the Atlanta series that looked like that, but can you maybe narrow down a year you had gotten it?

Deryll, I think June, 2008. And I could be completely wrong about the name having been that of a person. My memory is not that great nowadays.

I was looking at Majestic Move, Gisela's Sunshine, Omumuki, Hello Sunshine. You might also look at some of the older Carpenters. They were always quite short like that.

So, is this one you have now, or one you are wanting to find?

One I was hoping to find. Gisela's Sunshine and Hello Sunshine look like good candidates. I can no longer recall if it was an EMO or Rebloomer, but I don't think it ever had rust and we lived in Zone 8a at the time - hot and humid. Thanks, Deryll.

And I'm not sure why but Gisela's Sunshine sounded familiar. ???

Isle of Capri is fragrant (I also have it), registered in 1990. (It's too curvy for Mary Todd...) And there are so many yellows. D'Oh!

It's not Brutus, for sure, or Emerald Isle (much taller). That green throat does resemble Omomuki ...

Thanks Dianne, for so many possibilities. I am nearly positive it was not Omomuki. I had never heard of that one until the NGA Daylily threads. You're right - not Mary Todd, I have that one and it looks nothing like my unknown (that is, if the plant is TRULY Mary Todd).

There are SO many yellows! Sighing! But it sure does look a lot like one I grow (diploid)....Siloam Harold Flickinger. The stats sound right and it's the name of a person......any possibility?
I have a huge clump of it.

Oh Celeste! Don't tempt me again! Rolling on the floor laughing

For here, Isle Of Capri is one that has withstood many years of culling. The plant is awesome. It doesn't rebloom for me, but the plant itself is just one reason I keep it. If you think you might want to try it, better let me know soon, because they will be starting to bud any minute!

Taller and larger bloom (30 x 7), but when you said it might have been a person's name, I wondered if you were describing Planet Claire.

Looks a lot more like Siloam Amazing Grace than most of the rest, though that rings no bells either. Clearly I'm not going to remember it! Thanks for your help.

Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing I should have expected a zillion possibilities, given how many registered cultivars there are. D'Oh! My fault for not recording it!!!
