You might remember that my only silverline decided to bloom. I decapitated it and have had flowers from both the top and bottom sections. The bottom half also has new growth at the middle, do you think they look like delayed flowers or new rosettes?
Kate it looks like you will get some healthy new offsets, not blooming stalks.
Let them develop until they are fully formed before removing them from the stalk. I have done this many times with great success.
I also decapitated a semp head when it sent out flower stalk only to get more flower stalks around the cut stem...BUT when I checked under the old leaves along the stem, there was new growth of tiny leaves. Of course I forgot to water for almost a week and the little ones dried up on the stem...Bummer!
Oh no Bev But your post made me go out and look under the dead leaves on mine, and there appears to be some tiny leaves starting down there too. I'll have to remember to look after them.
Lol @mick64 I thought as much too, I didn't dare hope that it might be new rosettes, it's a favourite of mine and I was pretty sure I was going to loose it.
