I know, I know it's not technically fall yet but those of us in the Northern part of the country are preparing for the coming winter and, for us addicts, that means fall planting!

It was basically Christmas this afternoon when I came home to find 4 boxes on the porch!

I have some work ahead of me!

From Rich at Ctdaylilies:
PINS AND NEEDLES (1F)
DR. STUMP (2F and a small one growing up!!!!!)
YANKEE PINSTRIPES (2F)
BINDERS OF WOMEN (2F)
PIECE OF SKY (2F) - Gift plant.

This was my first time ordering plants from Rich and I am happy as can be.

From a trade on FB:
FANTASTIC FRINGE (2F)
IRISH HALO (2F)
WILD HAIR (1F)
RUFFLED STRAWBERRY PARFAIT (2F)

From a trade here on ATP:
FANTASY EYES (2F)
DOYLE PIERCE (2F)

And from our very own Ladylovingdove:
DRAGONFLY DAWN (3F)
and some seeds from the LA.

I believe this is the part where I stand, and announce, my name is James, and I have an addiction. Big Grin

I only have one coming, the correct Happy Happy. I got the wrong one this spring. I am struggling to keep up with them and like Julie I am seriously thinking of downsizing.

I am here to say that I have been a really good girl this summer and fall. As someone who has had over 200 new ones coming each spring and fall for the past few years, we got our first one this week from Facebook (Janet And Bill [N. Harry] which is really for next June's Region 5 Spring Meeting's auction and have a bid on one on the Lily Auction for next June's meeting, too), and coming soon for us Velvet Throne (Petit), three from Nicole Harry, a small order from Bill Maryott, three Ned Roberts intros from Dan Hansen, and Four Eyes TF (Lambertson) from Chris Rea's fall sale. When you run out of room, you are forced to put on the brakes. Rolling my eyes. We still have daylilies in pots to plant this fall but not sure where at this point. I really need to find room for a small dip bed. We are going to have some more trees cut down in November, so I can probably extend the dip bed close by to accommodate the dips in pots.

We will be a tour garden for the 2015 National when it comes to the Atlanta area. We have to leave room for the guest plants that we are also receiving now plus have guest plants for next June's Region 5 garden tour already in beds.

I have a box of daylilies from Theresa that is sitting at the post office! Our post office doesn't deliver packages if they don't fit in the mailbox. The bad part is that the post office is closed by the time the mail is delivered, so I have to wait until the morning to pick them up. I'm in agony! My little babies are sitting in a dark box, all alone! I may not sleep tonight!

Don't worry, Natalie, we know our daylilies are tough as nails! I usually get my over the top, don't have room for these orders in the spring. I got my only autumn order from Curt Hanson last week, had already made room for them, and had them in the ground the next day!!! That's really unusual for me. I ordered 2 and he sent 7!! I ordered After the Gold Rush and Van Allen's Belt, and he also sent Auntie Em, Simply Being Loved, Eyes are Mosaics, Little Bo Peep Diploma, and In Taffeta Patterns!!! I just love his patterned purples, and lots of his other stuff.

Now I'm waiting for a bare root hosta that I will need to plant right away, and that will be it for new plants this year for me.

Were the babies damaged from squishing??

We saw After the Gold Rush in bloom (one early bloom only) the 2nd week of July, and that was the one I had to have, especially when Curt explained that it's a nocturnal. It opens completely in the early evening and stays open and looking good through the next evening! He says it almost glows in the dark. I had a hard time remembering the name until I started associating it with Neil Young. I love that song. I will post pics hopefully next year!

Luckily they were fine. Just dried out a little, so they are soaking. Holes are dug, and they'll be in the ground before too long!

I HAVE to cut back and I am, but I got a box from Michelle a couple of days ago. It was kinda smashed some, but the plants were fine. Those boxes have damp plants in them and they mash too easily. Thanks Michelle. I got Viva Pinata and Dragonfly Tattoo to cross with my other patterns. I have Born to Be Wild coming soon and two trades with friends. I'm cutting back, I'm cutting back!!

After digging in and around established plants today I am seeing the wisdom in your pots.
